I just got my hair trimmed on Sunday and my ends, looked really nice.
I try to moisturize and put oil on them at night and in the mornings but, they look frayed.

My hair is almost necklength and I've been wearing the hair down all week.. so could that be the reason?

I haven't used any heat.

My ends are horrendous at the moment as well. Im going to be dusting them nightly till I get rid of all the ugly ends. I want my ends to be thick and healthy like this girl I was sitting next to today. I was drooling haha

I plan on moisturizing my ends morning and night and sealing + baggying when needs. Iv been slacking

what?? dusting them nightly!

Should you just get a trim in that case?

What is your technique of sealing and moisturizing? I think my technique might be bad.

Yea I think I have a bad technique also. I like twist my hair when applying the moisturizer and oil. I DON'T MEAN TWO STRAND TWIST NEITHER.....I mean like one strand twist which I think is bad because it's kinda like rubbing the ends. But I do it subconsciously, all I think about at the time is make sure you get your ends!

I am by no means a veteran, but I think the only way wearing your hair down would affect it is if it were coming in contact with harsh clothing material. Have you been wearing any scarves? (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Other than that, I know what you mean. Have you washed your hair since Saturday? I know that I got a trim recently and it looked great after the stylist flat ironed it, but after a few washes they look a little bummy. Sometimes I have a feeling that if the hair isn't particularly straight, as achieved with heat, the ends don't always look as good as they did before. Hopefully you'll get some more people to chime in! :)

Yea OP, you maybe right. Having your hair down all week may have caused that(although I know you had said you had been moisturizing your ends). This happen to me when I take down my sewn and decide to wear in out for a while. Protective styling maybe a better solution for you right now. HTH

I was coming in to say get a good cut, but I see you were recently trimmed. So now I will say to wear rollersets until your hair grows out long enough to wear protective styles. Until then keep up with your trims and keep them protected.

My ends never look good unless I rollerset or have it professionally done.

I don't worry about it though because I know my hair is healthy.

Sometimes you need to just leave them alone, especially if your hair is not breaking.

Once your hair grows longer those ends will start to look better.

Don't go cutting all your hair just to get blunt ends.

thanks guys. They look a little bit better now since, I've been putting my hair up in clips.
Plus I started to moisturize them with a spray moisturizer.

We've got the same hair length. I wear mine down everyday. It's such a hard length isn't it? Not short not long. I'll venture out and say that just because the ends look frayed, doesn't mean that they are. Try an experiment: try one week doing what you did with moisturizer + oil every night on the ends, then another week with just a little oil on the ends (unless I'm confused and you were just doing the oil thing). Listen to your hair. What works for others doesn't work for me necessarily.

Yeah this is so true. My ends are beautiful and smooth after a rollerset but of course they don't stay like that. Like you say as long as your hair isn't breaking it's best to just leave it.
