My ends just could not take it anymore...

...and neither could I!

I have been air drying my relaxed 4b hair for about a month now, and with good results - except for the ends.

I have been using Supergirl's recommended method for air drying. However, while the shaft of the hair looks good, the ends look, well - ragged.

As a result,the ends have been dry, and a challenge to keep adequately moisturized. I have had a trim. So, I believe that the little end pieces that I have been noticing were due to the fact that I could not keep the ends moisturized enough.

Anyway, this morning, In flat-ironed my ends with my ceramic flat iron, on a warm setting. I was then better able to moisturize and comb my ends.

My hair seemed to breathe a deep sigh of relief. It not only looked nicer, and made me feel more put-together about the head.

But, here's the rub! That's the trick about airdried ends. They look awful! But, a few months later, when you don't need another trim, you see the rewards! I know, it is a bit of a catch-22...I hate the way my airdried ends look, but I love knowing that I will be repaid for my patience by not needing a trim (or such a big one!) so soon. I can understand flatironing, heaven knows I have been tempted. I say, give airdying another chance so you don't need another trim soon after this one. There are also other alternatives. I airdry using the ponytail method and put a roller on my ends to straighten them out. It works wonders! I have hair that has not been heat-treated and my ends are moisturized, smooth and bumped under. That being said, I am sure a little flatironing within reason is cool. /images/graemlins/smile.gif HTH

I haven't roller set my hair since June and I'm telling you, I can't wait to get my bouncin' & behavin' roller-set hair back again!! Maybe this weekend if it's not hot.../images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif
