How do I relax my own 100% virgin hair?

I have grown my hair for a year now after a Big Shave. How do I relax my own virgin hair? tia

I'm posting from my phone so I can't post the you tube link, but if you do a search on there for "virgin relaxer" there is an i-village tutorial. To summarize, it is VERY tricky because on a virgin hair strand has three parts that have to be relaxed separately: the roots, main strand, and the ends.

1. You start with the strand avoiding the roots and ends. If you do the roots as well, your body heat will process it faster and the strand won't be done.
2. Then do the ends, because they are more porous than the strand
3. The roots last

I did this myself a few weeks ago but I did it in 4 sections. If you have the money, I say go to a shop. If you don't do it right, it'll come out underprocessed.

I agree, that's a big task to undertake wanting it to relax straight. I too would go to a professional shop and have it done to have it done correctly. Wish you the best on your journey!

I had my hair done last night by my niece who does hair, and she has beautiful healthy permed hair. It stayed in for the proper time length. She used Mizani regular and my hair isn't a 4b/a anymore, its a 3a/b. She said since it was virgin it will take a couple of applications over time to get it all to be bone straight. I didn't know that, I thought my hair will come out bone straight, I'm not disappointed in the least, I'm happy just to have some comb-able hair.
