My baby is transitioning....

Hello all. My daughter is in the process of transtioning and I wanted to know if any of you have children that have gone from relaxed to natural? She is really excited about the process. I showed her lots of kids with natural and have her tear out pics from the Sunday paper of natural kids to make a collage. I was a little disheartened when I told her her hair would have tiny spirals like mine and she said "But your hair is not nappy like mine!"

She's really cute. How old is she? I'm surprised to hear that a child that young is referring to her hair as nappy. But still--teach her that naps aren't bad or ugly.

She is 8 and I don't know where she got "nappy" from but don't worry she will learn to celebrate the naps.

Hey, msportugal...your daughter looks really cute, if she's eight, most girls who are this age usually like braids, so you why don't you have her find some braided styles that she might like, while she is transitioning.

Congrats on your baby transitioning msportugal. My daughter is a little younger, but I have an album in my pics with her styles. She wears braids, twists, ponytails, etc. Maybe they can help you with ideas. Congrats again!
