Hey ladies, I have to ask yall. I often put my daughter hair in a bun and one of my older cousin just told me that style is too grown for her.
I had to catch my toungue b/c her daughter is the same age as mine and she can't do anything to her hair at all. Just asking for yall opinions. I really don't think it is to grown.

I personally don't think it's grown at all. From the picture, your daughter still looks like little girl to me. In my opinion, when little girls do NOT have their hair in protective styles such as braided plaits or buns, that is when they look grown. I tend to be conservative about hairstyles on young girls too (my mother did my hair until high school :yep:).

I don't think she looks too grown at all. Your cousin has the right to her opinion and you have the right to DISREGARD. That little girl is beautiful, bun and all.

Too adorable. You are doing a great job. Like the last poster, I believe this is a great style for a little girl. Keep up the good work.

Thanks ladies. Your right she does have a right to her own opinion. I have alot to say about her daughters hair seeing as though she has permed it already and she is 6. BUT I keep my opinion to myself. TO EACH ITS OWN.

If that is too grown i wonder what she would say about the hair styles i do on my 10 yr old....check my fotki and tell me what you think....that bun is cute on her and it should on matter to you what your daugter looks like no one else.

It doesnt look too grown, its very cute and age appropriate.:yep: I see lots of girls in the 6-10 range with bags of weave on their heads , now *that* is too grown.

Your daughter looks really cute. I do not see how one could possibly think that is too "grown". She looks very age appropriate. Keep up the good work.

I agree with some of the others. That style does not look too grown on her. I actually think it makes her look like a little angel (minus the halo:grin:). I think you should stick to styles like this. It's way better than some of the kids I've seen around me (weave ponytails). Personally, I think little girls should not be wearing weaves, tracks or anything like that. Now those types of things do make a little girl look too grown. Nor do I think they should have their hair relaxed or anything like that at those early ages. Talk about major damage!! Don't let anyone tell you how to style your little girl's hair. I think it's adorable and she's very pretty.

Your daughters hair looks so cute and age appropriate! IMO I don't think there is a cuter style on a little girl. When my daughter was little I used to bun her hair all the time. And now that she is 12, and does her own hair she still sports a bun on the top of her head just like your daughter :yep:. Keep up the good work mom!

That style is NOT grown at all. She is a little doll, toooooooo cute!!! She looks like a little girl should IMO.

I think it is a totally appropriate style and looks very nice. She's a darling little girl.

maybe she's a little jealous that your daughter's hair can be put in a bun. I hate to see little kids with perms. I hope her hair doesn't get damaged.:ohwell: Your daughter is adorable and she doesn't look grown. Can you share your regimen, please?! You're doing everything right.:love3:

Not grown at all...I was in ballet as a kid until 22 and had to wear a bun ALL the time! She looks adorable and very much like a kid.:littleang

I did not want to say this, but I agree that she may be a little ticked about your baby's hair-If anything relaxed hair on a young girl is too grown. MAybe you can share tips for her to do on her little girl

I love it, my daughter is six and she wants me to do this style for her after the next hair washing. I love it too cute.

Hey, You might be right DD. She is just looking for any reason to criticize. I think it is age appropriate and very cute. She needs to start taking some tips from you.

How adorable, I think the ballerina bun is cute and age appropriate. I think it probably keeps her hair neat for most of the day too.

I don't mean any harm, but since when is putting a little girl's hair in a bun "grown?" She looks quite adorable, like a little princess. Your cousin knows not of what she speaks. My definition of "grown" is all these 4 year olds with multi-colored weaves down their backs.:nono:
