MSN Quiz-Do you have healthy hair?

5 out of 7 isn't too bad...but I disagree with bad foods not having any effects on your hair....I think if you eat poorly it will affect your overall health not just your hair...JMO;)

I got 6 out of 7 right. I think that question about what causes dandruff is misleading. Too many products can cause build up which can make flakes that "look" like dandruff. Most people don't know that its not acutally dandruff but build up.

I think the quiz is wrong:
1. You can make your hair healthier by using shampoos with protein(ex. lanza, diametress, etc.). If you could only make hair healthier by eating, then what's the point of using proteins or conditioners on hair?
2. Lack of protien in diet does make your hair snap easily. The quiz contradicted itself later by saying that lack of protein makes hair dry and brittle!
...ok, maybe I shouldn't take an online quiz so seriously!

Conditioners are different than shampoos, though. The main point of a shampoo is to add soap to the hair and strip it of oils and dirt. Conditioners have surfactants that can get rid of oil and dirt, but to a much less extent and the point of a conditioner is to deposit things into the hair...protein, vitamins, oils etc. Often people leave them on the hair for a some minutes to allow them to do that.

I think part of why the hair snaps so easily is because it is dry and brittle. Remember when hair is moist and supple, it can stretch farther without breaking and it snaps back to its original length. Dry, brittle hair just stretches a little and then breaks.

I think what they mean by "snap" is refering to the same state as "dry and brittle." When your hair is "dry and brittle" it snaps, or breaks, off easily.
