is it wrong that I haven't been to the beauty shop in months to get a trim? I know I am long overdue?

I've never gotten it either. I mean, okay, if you have a layered pixie cut, okay, yeah. But, I'm sorry - anything longer than ear length needs more than a 'quarter' sized amount.
I hope she learned a lesson. These stupid rules do not apply to everyone! When will these stylists and salespeople get that?
