I'm so glad I opened this thread because I think I've figured out a few things regardng my use of MSM. I recommend doing a search on MSM because there are quite a few interesting threads on this topic.

As for my experience when I first started taking MSM it threw my cycle off like crazy for about two months. It would start without warning and there was no logic to when it would decide to start or stop. Realizing I was seeing other benefits I decided to give it another try after a two month hiatus. Those symtoms went away and now I no longer experience the pms I used to - nor do I experience the massive cramping I used to experience. Although I've been blessed with nice skin, I've noticed it has more of a glow and isn't as dry. So based on that I'm assuming my hair is reaping the benefits as well.

But the best side effect ever is pretty much the disappearance of my allergies! I've been trying to figure out why they haven't developed this spring and now I'm starting to think it's the MSM! I've tried allergy shots, all kinds of allergy pills to no avail. And for some reason my allergies just dedcided to disappear this year! I've suffered with allergies for at least 10 years. Wow, I love LHCF.

I'm taking 1500 mg per day. I take Member's Mark brand from Sam's club. 300 tablets for about $23.00. I've tried other brands but I believe these give me the best results. Although I have considered trying the powder.

When I first read this thread, I was thinking..I'm glad my cycle hasn't changed. Spoke too soon....although I'm not experiencing any cramps, my cycle started 5 days early. I'm going to stay on the Msm for another month and see what happens.

I took 1/4 teaspoon of it one day last week and I didnt get any headaches but it left me fatigued. It knocked the wind out of me, I could barely stay awake.

I first took this sometime around the ending of last year and I had
pre-period symptoms, too. Back then it was 2,000 mg. I just started taking msm powder, 3,000 mg a few weeks ago and so far so good. No symptoms at all.

I took the vitamin shoppe powder form (2 teaspoons)for a couple of months. After 1 month of taking the powder, my cycle was over 3 weeks w/heavy clots (TMI) I got scared because I'm pretty regular so I went to the emergency room because my gyno did not have any openings, but they could find nothing wrong. After reading about MSM affecting cycles, I started to suspect that was the culprit so I disconinued using it. I had taken MSM tablets prior to the powder for about a year with no problems, so I switched back to them and 5 months later, I have no problems. I think the powder was just too potent, or maybe I over did it.

Last year some time, I took MSM tablets (1,000 mg) 2 pills a day for 2 weeks when I began to notice these horrible spots on my face. I stopped taking them and the spots gradually faded. These were your regular drug store brand.

When I started to take MSM powder, I had some of the worst zits ever! I continued taking it and watching my water intake. After about two weeks they were gone and my skin was great ever after. I don´t even get period spots anymore. :)
About a month ago I started a new brand (which smells a bit "sulfury" BTW) after a two month´s break and have no problems yet.
