I've used the Oil Moisturizing version in Mild.

I love this relaxer. It took me forever to find it, but as long as they make it I'll never use another.

I'm 3C and my hair is fine.

I also use this relaxer now and I really like it..My hair is 3C, coarse and thick and it didn't burn like the Regular for me and it straightened very nicely without being too straight and looking thin (which the Regular was starting to do).

I used the motions oil version in mild twice and ended up with underprocessed hair; it took me like 4 months to "correct" it!! I used to use motions mild lye in HS and remember having good results with it, but when i used it again i wasn't too lucky.

Now i use affirm mild lye and i like it a lot. Since we are both 4a's maybe you may have better success with the Affirm. There are several threads that may help you, like the "affirm vs. Mizani" thread, and "calling all 4a/b's"
I find that most 4's use Affrim, Mizani and Revlon with good results. HTH

I am a 4a/b with fine hair. My stylist has been using Motions Regular - - I think it was no lye - - and for my touch up, I will ask him to use the Motions Oil Mild that I bought. The regular has always made my hair bone straight.

Hello ladies,
Thank you for all of your input. It seems tht since I am a 4 that perhaps something like Revlon, Mizani or Affirm would be best for me. To be quite honest, I remember (back when I was in middle school) that the Revlon lye perm worked the *best* on my hair. It always looked well.

It was after a bad experience with a beautician (I burned) that my mom and I decided that shampoo, press and curl was the way to go

Well, that was quite some time ago. Given that I just want to texturize and not straighten - perhaps the hints from this board can help me avoid the burning problems -

Thanks again ladies
