Motions CPR - not a protein conditioner?

I'm trying to get a regimine going and I read somewhere that CPR doesn't have protein in it. If so, I'm mad I spent $5.99 on a tub that doesn't do it. This is the last thing I need to get - a protein conditioner.

Hi Jazzy,

BronxDiva and I have both written to the Motions Company about this product. The person who answered me,(Audrey M. Wells), didn't really give me a straight answer, but the person who answered BronxDiva, said it wasn't. My guess is that it's not a full fledged protein conditioner, but the herbs in it do heal the hair and add strength. That would be my guess. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

it does have protein in it, hydrolyzed collagen to be exact, 4th or 5th ingredient. i sued CPR last nite and tested a strand of my hair. it was more elastic.

Just want to add my 50 cents (get it, I know I'm corny) but anywhoo. Protein or no protein, I have had this product sitting in my linen closet for months, after I read some great remarks about it I gave it a shot. I had breakage/shedding (whatever, I just know hair was coming out and I never experience this unless something is wrong)"overprocessed hair from past experiment" But after "1" treatment, it has ceased,, let me say again, It has ceased, I vouch for this product... Also, I have a passion for expensive top of the line products, the rush I get is like buying designer clothes, But I was really surprised how well it worked, I remember looking at the jar to see the price I paid, $3.99 (for the small jar) I was impressed.. I cannot be anymore clear... Enjoy your product, I'm pretty sure some other ladies have good things to say about it.

Pandora, I think is actually works better than the Nexxus emergencee, I used it the week before and NADA!

Thanks Nikki. I tested it out in a strange way last night. I took a strand of my hair and put it in the jar, pushed it down into the cream and let it sit overnight. This morning, I oulled it out, rinsed it off and tugged on it. It was elastic and did not break easily. The final test is on my whole head and see how that works.

I'm going to use it again for the second time. Can I use this with a heating cap? Also, I will make sure to follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.

I agree. I tried the Aphogee awhile back when I had severe breaking of the hair (long and short strands/bits) and it slowed it a bit. Then I pulled out (like you) an old tub of CPR that I had bought like 2 years before. I had stopped using it because of the little bits. Well it stopped the breakage. I used it with a heating cap. I was so impressed.

Has anyone tried the shampoo or the daily hair creme? I want to try the shampoo, but I am not too sure about hair creme because it smells and LOOKS just like the conditioner - all full of those little herbs etc.

Based on Jazzyfunknastee's experiement, do you think we can leave it on all night? Has anyone tried this? /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

Hi Ladies:

Does the Motions CPR leave the hair soft? I used it a long time ago and can't remember. Would you recommend another conditioner as a follow-up?

Thanks. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

no it will leave you hair strong and the strands stiff so use a moisturizer after. my hair gets tangled as well. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Ya, when I used it, first I did a hot oil treatment w/ Olive oil for 30mts under hooded dryer, washed, then applied the CPR w/ a plastic cap for an additional 30mts, under hooded dryer, was about to rinse it out, but my fiance and his friends were in the kitchen so I wrapped a towel around the plastic cap, fell asleep for like an hour. When i got up I rinsed "thoroughly" and applied Nexxus Humectress for 5 minutes under HD.. Imagine getting all that done in a salon..

marabou, my hair was always very soft after using this product. I never followed with a moisturizing condit and i dont think i ever suffered from protein overload. of course it reacts differently for everyone

i'm confused now coz the cpr aint bein sold to the shops that i go o now coz apparently motions discontinued it...is this true?

I can vouch for CPR as well. I used it last week and it stopped the breakage I had been experiencing even more. I mixed the CPR with Affirm 5 in 1 reconstructor and went to bed with it (about 6 hours on my head). I didn't use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards cause my hair is never dry after using either of these products (anyhoo Affirm 5 in 1 is really moisturizing...I find). /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Girl, when this stopped my breaking I was too excited because you know they say once you can hold on to your ends and keep your hair healthy it's happy growing from there...

i use this conditioner about 3-4 times a month if i am in a straightening phase. if im not using heat then i use 1 or 2 times. this conditioner has never left my hair hard only soft. and to the person who asked about leaving it in overnight. i did that and my hair was soft for days! i love this conditioner.

I love this product and use it regularly I think its a great conditioner, love the way my hair feels. I also think the ingredients are awesome. But--Did it stop my breaking? Well, uh not really. I guess I had a severe case that required "the big guns" (Aphogee & DRC-28)

/images/graemlins/smile.gifHi Ladies
I used the motions cpr for the first time on last saturday.
I loved it, it made my hair so soft and it stopped the breakage that I've been experiencing. I used it again today
with the same results, I used the dominican avacado cond' afterwards, but I'm sure I did not need to. I purchased the small jar cpr but now I going to buy two or three of the largest jars they have. This is now my conditioner. I also used the oil relaxer which I also loveed, I have been using a no lye for some time, so I pulled the relaxer through to the ends, the texture of my hair has changed, now its so moist and soft I wish I had done this before.

OK Ladies....
This was on sale at Sally's for $5.99. Ok, not a big discount but a dollar is a dollar. I just rinsed it out and my hair is very soft and my new growth is managable. My hair even looks better. I'll see how it acts once it's dry. It's hard to get all the herbs out but so far so good. I followed with my Suave Coconut.

You know, when I used it, I never had a problem with the herbs. They always seems to come out easily.

Same here. It's been a LONG time since I've used this product. You ladies make me want to go out and buy some. NOT! At least not until I run out of my current protein/reconstructor.

I also had a problem with the herbs. Things get lost in my hair...lol. I go digging for it and it goes further in. I just leave them in if it's not too much....they do come out eventually /images/graemlins/smile.gif
