To the ladies who wear sew ins, how do you keep your hair moisturized? I went for a shampoo this evening and my braider told me that my hair was dry this time. I'm thinking about spraying my Motions leave in conditioner on my hair every few days.
black n sassy break free, braid spray, or my scurl mixture. sometimes i put qp mango butter. it all depends on what is closer to my hand at the time, lol. but just put any moisturizin product on your braids and you should be fine

When I had a sew-in, I became addicted to washing my hair daily or at least every other day...I didn't use any other products...and whenever I touched my cornrows they were always moist.
When my hair is braided or sewn in I never wash it. It works better for me that way. As far as moisturizing my hair I part each section pin it up and moisturize it with Hawwian silky moisturizer then follow up with a braid oil or any other oil I have on hand. Sometimes I like using EVOO. Then continue to do the whole head , spraying moisturizer then oil my hair not to much my scalp. I guess the moisturizer that leaks onto my scalp is enough. Oh and then make sure before you get another sew in your hair is really moisturized.
and I use essential oils (jojoba, meadowfoam, and coconut) and I put it in a color aplicator so its easier for me to get it to my braids and I also use surge and scurl...
Thanks ladies! I wash once a week. One week I'll go to my braider and the next week I'll use Taliah Waajid's moisture clenz on my scalp. I will definitely moisturize my hair using the tips you all gave me. Hopefully this will help with all the darn itching. Again thanks!
