What do u do to moisturize your hair after u shampoo, condition your hair and for day to day moisturizing?

When I leave for class in the morning, my hair is so soft and mosturized, but then at the end of the day, it is dry, and hard. I sit outside a lot during breaktime and it has been sooo hot lately!! I wear a scarf, and I use Headress which has sunscreen, but even that doesn't help. Minus, a spray bottle, which I keep forgetting to put in my bag, have u found any thing which moisturizeres your hair all day??

Thank u kindly!!!

edited to add: Also, I think the oil is what's frying my hair in the heat. U can literally fry an egg in my hair!! I think I will save the oil for the evenings and not apply any after I do my conditioning washes.

Also, there is no ac at my school and it's hot in the building as well.

Is your hair getting dried out from the sun? This used to happen to me alot.John Freida Life Preserver Oil prevented my hiar from getting dried out and hard in intense sun.

I have never heard of oil frying one's hair in the sun tho..

Thanks Katie. I don't know. I never heard of anyone else's hair getting fried in the sun too from using oil. I orinigally posted this question for the transitioners. Maybe I need to switch up on the oil or something.

I've been using jojoba and olive oil.

Maybe u should try and moisturised the ends with a mixture of conditioner and a little castor oil

Thanks Nekee and Hairlove for your suggestions. I'm going to switch up on the oils and definitely carry my spray bottle.

Just when I thought I had a routine down, gotta find one all over again with transitioning!!!

I used John Frieda's oil mixed w/ Nexuus Headdress in the hot Caribbean sun and my hair stayed soft, smooth and moist all day for 7 days.

I read some where that St. John's Wort oil is a natural sun blocking or sun protecting oil. I'm gonna see if it was from an online source so I can post the site. Has anyone else heard of this or has tried this oil?

curl activator keeps my hair moist for days. i put Vaseline on the ends to seal in the moisture. lately i've been unbraiding my bun after my hair dries and pulling it back into a banana clip. it stays moist all day, and the heaviness of the Vaseline makes the waves stay in better.

I second what Adrienne, does.

For conditioner wash days (not wearing hair straight but wavy): Use the Scurl no drip activator on freshly washed wet hair. It keeps the hair moisturized after it has air dried and for the rest of that day. That evening, I re-spray more scurl (after wetting the hair again) plait two pigtails and in the morning the hair dries soft and moisturized.

Lately I've added Hot Six Oil after the scurl which seems to seal in what the scurl is already doing and increase shine.

CaramelKiss,
I used it every day on my trip but when i returned to NYC, I switched back to my Keracare Essential oils. The Life preserver oil made my blond highlights shimmer like bronze. My hair felt silky all day.

Spagirl- That's news to me about St. John's wort oil. I've never tried it as an oil. Would be interesting to hear more about it.

Thanks for the tips, Adrienne and BRH. Vaseline I have. I"ll add s-curl on my list. I know it's popular here.

Lunalight, thank u. Blond highlights? Sounds pretty, but how did u do that? Did u have to get your hair bleached? Which product did u use??
