Now that it is super cold outside, my NTM silk touch isn't working so well. I'm bunning but I think I need to baggy too. What are you guys using to moisturize with???

When my hair is straight, I use NTM silk touch, a little Mizani H2O nitetime treatment and some jojoba oil on my ends to keep it moisterized for the winter. It works very well and my hair feels very moisterized. Oh, and I also use a little bit of EQ Mango Butter before I oil my ends.

Giovanni Direct-Leave-in sealed with jojoba/castor/coconut oil.

I went from Silk Touch to Aveda Elixir to Giovanni Direct, and Giovanni is the hands down winner. It's so moisturizing and thick, I love it!

I also realized that I can't be afraid of being more heavy-handed with my oils. The cold and the wind will strip every bit of moisture out of my hair if I don't seal well.

Yes, Giovanni Direct is the best to use, but because I'm natural, if I use it my hair will revert, so I don't use it when I flat iron my hair.

I am picking up that Mizani this weekend.

I just keep moisturizing my strands with ORS moist. lotion and sealing my ends with sweet almond oil or EVOO. This helps protect my strands during harsh winds.

I just use what I normally use, but I moisturize at least twice a day (morning and night). My faves are BB Castor Oil, Cantu Grow Strong, and distilled water/leave-in mix. I'm also going to do a mid-week CO wash. It's been crazy cold and dry here, and my hair is definitely feeling it.

Me Too! ;)

My hair is loving WGO and Castor oils to seal in my leave-ins (Scurl, Carrot Cream, or Surge). Also I am wearing a plastic cap (my version of the baggie) more often!

I'm still using a mist of water but I seal with macadamia nut butter or avocado butter instead of just an oil.

Macadamia nut butter blended with a little bit of virgin coconut oil makes a great, creamy, but not too heavy, butter to seal with. I have it on my hair right now.

well after trimming in December and having that inch of growth cut off last week because of dry, split ends :( i'm giving the bun-and-baggie method another go. i thought i was moisturizing my hair enough but apparently not...

just using a creamy leave-in conditioner from Garnier, with some V05 conditioner mixed with WGO and then for the hair that's not in the braided bun, applying a miniscule amount of ORS Lock N Twist gel. i just spritz every morning for added moisture. but otherwise the hair stays in the baggie and covered with a knee-high, and when i leave the house i throw on a phony-pony and wrap it around into a bun. i'm only on day 2 of this so... i don't know if i'm getting good results yet.

i kinda like Garnier's leave-in and i'm considering trying some of their other products for curly hair. (and here i thought i had my PJism under control... :spinning: )

Since it's been below zero for most of the past 5 days I have been baggying at night and wearing a bun during the day. I have been using a random combination of s-curl spray or qhemet alma and olive il heavy cream, sealed with castor or olive oil. I wore my ends out today and boy to do regret it. I put my hair up in a bun no less than an hour after getting to work.

I use my regulars, NTM, Isoplus lavender,SE leave in and a few others {mind blank at the moment}, sealing with any oils, often layering products. The same as pre-winter. I have added a spray of Tulsi in a Hawaiian Silky moisture bottle with a small bit of silky still in it. Condition wash, pre-wash condition with MTG. I scarf, hat, baggy constantly. Oh,warm mist humidifiers in bedroom, living room.
