Hey Ladies,

I want to know if anyone knows the secret to a moisturized twist out? I plan on getting it done this weekend but they always feel so dry :( . Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Don't have the answer to your question, but wanted to compliment you on your hair. It is Gorgeous! :rosebud:

What do you currently use to moisturize your hair? When you normally do a twist out, do you moisturize each section prior to twisting? Maybe that would help.

I am currently is ORS Olive Oil Lotion as a daily moisturizer.

When I do a twist out, I usually apply a leave-in (keracare) and then apply the Mizani mousse (it is suppose to be non-drying). I usually keep the twist out for 2 weeks (I know...but it looks good  ). I would spritz everyday with some spray for shine (if I am not mistaked, I think it is the one by Doo Groo).

Although the mousse indicates it's non-drying, I wonder if it's the culprit. Why don't you try it without the mousse and use a moisturizer in place of it when doing a twist out.

For some reason the Olive oil lotion was drying for my hair.

I find that using creamier products while the twists are still in does the trick. The oilier/greasy products just sit on top of my hair. I like Asha's Heavenly hair butter and QP's mango butter. I use it generously every day and by the time I do the twist out, my hair is moisturized.
