Been lurking this thread since the beginning :look: but now I need to come out of lurkmode cause I have a question.

What do you add to your mixes to keep it from separating (if you add oil)?

I tried adding oil to my mix already but I threw the mix away cause it was clogging up the nozzle:perplexed.

It does separate. I make sure to shake the mixture up real good before I get to spraying. Usually it stays mixed long enough for me to spray down a section of hair as needed.

Aggie, thanks again.
I hope you don't mind all my questions; cause I have more. :lachen:

Should I also use SAA too? If so, how do you use it?

Thank you so much.

Hi honey, so sorry I took so long to answer but the saa is another winner that I put mostly in my poos and conditioners, but I only use a little at a time and only when I am actually about to DC my hair, I'd add about a half a teaspoon. I don't put it in the entire bottles poos and conditioners although some people do.

I have this in the fridge, how do you use this? I was mixing it in my henna but I'm not hennaing any more. Can this be mixed in conditoners?

Thanks LadyKay!!

I like it mixed in with a cheapie con for a pre poo. I use black strap molasses.

Castor oil is also a humectant. Panthenol also seems to be quite moistorising, even if it's not exactly a humectant.

In my spritz, I have filtered water, glycerine, castor oil and panthenol, along with a little bit of Megatek rebuilder. Makes my hair soft and moisturised and even seems to have a smoothing effect.

I've also in the past added honey and castor oil to conditioners, and castor oil to leave-ins. Doing that made my curls more defined when I was texlaxed / natural.
That sounds so yummy, where did you get your Panthenol? Is it the powdered kind? TIA

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but sodium lactate is also a humectant. Also, do other humectants let the atmosphere draw moisture from the hair like ive heard glycerin does?

I'll try that. I just ordered 2 SAA's & 2 Honeyquat's from Lotioncrafter.

Thanks again, Aggie.
