Is there a bonifide authentic genuine Modern day Prophet or prophetess in the earth today? If so, who and why do you think this person is the real deal?
 
I definitely believe so..... I can't wait to read the other responses in this thread!

I wanted to come back also to provide scripture that supports modern day prophets/prophetess

I Corinthians 12:1-18, 1Corinthians 14:26, 29-31, 33, 37-40

Definitely not Cindy Trimm... She's a witch... I know well what witchcraft is so I can spot it when I see it. ****runs out never to return to this thread****

One more comment then I really am leaving. I don't believe the true prophets, apostles, evangelists, and others with these giftings are visible and have a public platform. The world does not like the real Holy Spirit because He rebukes the sin. They are content with the false spirit flowing now because it has no standard. A true prophet would be severely persecuted. Anyone who people just LOVE is not a prophet. What is highly esteemed among men is an abomination to God.

well Juanita calls herself Prophetess and at first everyone loved her but after all of business was exposed she is mostly hated.

Juanita is a witch too... I don't use that word lightly. Please just believe I know a witch when I see one claiming to be a "prophet/prophetess"... She is suffering for her faults, not righteousness. I pray for her though, just as I'd want prayer in her situation.
1 Peter 2:20 KJV
For what glory is it , if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it , ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

I have learned to be skeptical of folks "prophe-lying".

The spirit gives gifts as he sees fit but not everyone that has a gift of prophecy holds the office of a prophet (as in the 5-fold ministry).

Im not sure if I believe that there are modern-day prophets to the nations-like in the OT. I do believe that there are prophets though. I guess there is just so much false teaching and misuse of the gospel that it is hard for me to believe the traveling prophets.

I mean think about it. Most of the prophets of the OT were sending Gods message to rebuke and chestize, and often to send guidance. But Most of the prophecies I hear today are about money and success.

I feel like Juanita had the anointing initially but then lost it along the way..........

The gifts and the callings come without repentance...

If she has the calling of a prophet/prophetess it does not leave her.

True... But prophets also encourage the Body of Christ as well. The 5-fold ministry is still in effect. I believe the prophetic office is the most misunderstood office within the 5-fold.

I think the danger comes in when people attempt to use the prophetic gift for their own purposes. A good example is Balaam in Numbers 22. He was a true prophet but he became consumed with his own greed. But despite that, the gift of prophecy never left him.
