Mizani vs silk element relaxer

Im going to relax next week after a 3 month strech (sp?) and i would like to get your opinion on which relaxer worked better for you.

SE, regular, next touch-up mild SE. Never tried Mizani but was advised by my trusted beautician {now gone to earn her B.A., her gain my big loss!} that Mizani was too strong for my hair. I'm sure there are people who use it with no ill effects.

I'm curious about this, too. I'm currently using SE Mild. Now, granted, I have very thick, coarse hair and the SE Mild just barely gets it straight (one touch-up it did great, the next it didn't do the best), but I LOVE it because it doesn't burn like the regular did. So, summer's coming up and I need a relaxer that will keep my hair straight to combat sweating (which I do a lot of). BUT, I don't need anything else that burns (refuse to go back to no-lye, though).

So, I'm thinking of trying out Mizani Mild (just got my shipment from Sheldeez, actually). I know Mizani itself is strong (I used to use the regular and could barely keep the stuff on my head becasue it burned so fast! But it straightened so well!). I'm thinking the Mild is still strong (what I need to get through these thick roots) but maybe it'll be gentler on my scalp...? That's my theory. Any thoughts?

Mizani mild is what I'm currently using and so far so good. I have sensitive skin so I try to base before I go to the salon for a retouch (even though they do a thorough job).... just to prepare my scalp. I do this especially if I've been scratching. My hair's thickening up some since I switch to mild, so I guess the regular was too strong on my fine strands.

I don't know much about SE's line at all.

My hair is thicker than a sheeps butt! I use the mizani for fine and color treated hair (green writing on the bucket). I love it. It allows me the time to properly apply it throughout my thick hair, without burning. My scalp isn't sensitive at all though. I LOVE THIS STUFF!

My beautician uses Mizani regular on me, and it gets my hair straight. My scalp used to burn really quickly, but if I take time to base it the night before and right before the relaxer, I don't have any problems.

Mizani has a sensitive scalp formula too, but I haven't tried it.

I haven't tried SE, but from reading other threads, I want to. I may try it at home the next time I opt not to go to the salon for a retouch.

I'm using Mizani mild relaxer. I use to use ORS no lye regular relaxer and ever since I made the switch my hair has thanked me for it.

i've used both mizani and silk element and i prefer mizani. When i use to get a silk element perm it would look great for about 3 weeks, but then after that i seemed like my hair would revert and i couldnt handle that. the mizani relaxer gets me bone straight (which i like) with burning and has great swing ability. I've tried ORS too and its good and very conditioning, doesn't get me bone straight, but it does turn out nicely.

My stylist used mizani when I was relaxed, it worked very well. When I tarted self-relaxig I used Silk Elements Lye with good results as well. I didn't vote because I like both.

Well both of them burnt the piss outta my scalp and therefore I don't use them anymore, so make sure you base like hell.

But the mizani (regular) kept my hair nice and straight and I LOVED the texture of my hair. It was my dream hair, but now that I don't relax bonestraight (or prefer to burn my scalp off) I stopped using it.

Silk Elements was the worse burning relaxer I ever used, it made my hair nice and straight but it then reverted some three weeks later.

If I *HAD* to choose between the two I would go for the Mizani.

I've used silk elements, however my last relaxer was the mizani butter blend and I REALLY like the results. My hair feels great and soft!

I used silk elements regular no lye/sensative scalp and my hair was bone straight and its been two weeks and its still bone straight. Next time i will try mild though because i dont like that bone straight look. I never used mizani but i have used ors and i dont like it plus the price is too high for me

I heard that Mizani Butter Blend is excellent and is milder than the regular Mizani relaxers which I currently use. The mild butter blend kinda give textured results so when I relax again, I am going to use the Mizani normal/regular BB relaxer. The mild will be too mild for me I think. I want a textured look but I don't want underprocessed looking hair.

I've used the Mizani Butter Blends and SE. I like my hair on the straighter side so SE was a better choice for me. Butter blends is gentler but it doesn't get my hair as straight as I would like. Can't speak for the regular Mizani relaxers though.

I've used both, but I can honestly say that Mizani BB works better on my hair. SE is okay, tho, but just mediocre IMO.

I have used SE mild and regular and Mizani Mild. Out of those, Mizani mild was the best one. Silk Elements is nice, it doesn't stink, it is affordable, but for me, it increased my hair shedding.

Once a Mizani lover I'm in love with silk elements olive oil relaxer. Love it!!! Plus the price is right. Can't beat $4.39 either! Mizani was great at first but after 4 years it just didn't supply the shine I always got . Anyway a member rave about Silk elements giving her the 'bling' and once I tried it I love it! HTH

I've tried both and I must say I love Mizani Butter Blends better. It relaxes my hair beautifully without burns, over drying out my hair or making hard. Best of all it doesn't revert after 3 weeks like silk elements. I did like silk elements but the reverting got on my last nerve, but for the price it is a good relaxer.

I use the Mizani Butter Blends system. I was on the fence also, but I chose it because
1. I do my relaxers myself, and with all the research I did, I saw that NO ONE had burned their scalp with this relaxer.

2. That being said, I do not enjoy my hair bone straigt. I like it about 95% straight. I know a lot of women say that this relaxer doesn't strighten thier hair enough, but the relaxer doesnt get the hair straight, its the process of smoothing.

Also, I think you should clarify which Mizani you'd like to use/ppl to respond with becasue not all Mizani is the same!
