Im going to start self relaxing and want to know where are U ladies buying ur Mizani relaxers...also which ones are U using ..im thinking I should try the one for fine/color treated hair ..TIA

I see you are in maryland. I buy my Mizani in silver spring. =Tthere is a beauty supply store off rte 29 in the shopping center across from the autopark that carries mizani, kera care, affirm and so forth. I usually use Mizani mild but the last time I went they didnt have it so i bought mizani regular. HTH

I used to be a Mizani mami
. I used the regular, but I was relaxig bonestraight back then. To be honest with you everytime I relaxed it was PUUUUURFECT except for the wicked burning. I haven't had a "perfect" relaxer since then. But I stopped for 1. it burnt the crap outta my scalp and that is something I will NEVER go back to, the perm sores aren't worth it 2. I don't relax bonestraight anymore and 3. it was kinda expensive.

I received my order which included Chi Silk Infusion. I opened it and saw a few red drops in it.
I was like, "what is that?". I called discount beauty and spoke with a woman who said I could return the Chi at my cost and they'd send me out another one. Whatever!
I then talked to the owner and he goes on and on about no one has ever had this problem befor and basically he doesn't believe me and I need to call the manufacturer. If the manufacturer says it's abnormal then they'll replace it. I called the manufacturer and she said that was abnormal. I called the owner back and only then did they agree to send me another one.
I just felt like I shouldn't have had to jump through hoops. I even told him, I'd rather get another one to see for myself if it was just the composition of the liquid. That was his reasoning for the red specks.
Now, that I've checked out the Chi at Ulta, I think it is just that the coloring they use that does separate but since the manufacturer(Farouk) said it was abnormal who wants to put something in their hair that has red droplets in it?

I have a 4lb tub of Mizani Lye for Fine/Color Treated hair and I LOVE IT!!!

I use mizani lye. i get my hair done at the salon and i use the regular. I never get any burns.
I use Mizani Mild for Sensitive Scalp. I buy mine at Lee Beauty Supply in Michigan. But I never get any burns and I use it just as a texturizer. I base my scalp myself and I generally stretch 8-12 weeks (depending on what's going on in my life). I'm at 9 weeks next week and I plan to texlax at 10 weeks.
I always wash my hair a week before my relaxer so that my scalp is clean:no sulfur products (BT or Sulfur 8) on my scalp. This seems to be working for me. I leave the Mizani on for maybe 5-7 minutes just to relax my curl 4b pattern.

I love my Mizani (fine and color treated) and my hair is no where near fine, but it was color treated. I get mine from ebay for a great price!
