'Mixed Chicks' review...

Nothing special. Great shampoo; don't care for their deep conditioner. The packaging is bad and the conditioner is hard to work through your hair. If it hadn't been for my Paul Mitchell Detangler, I would have never gotten the comb through it. The leave-in conditioner is okay, but I've tried better detanglers.

In essence, my hair looks the same way it's always looked so no reason to buy this line again :)

Thanx for the review! I've heard about this line before and wondered how good it was.

Thanks, Blossssom.

What was wrong with the packaging? What is the texture of the conditioner like? Are the products good enough for you to finish or are you going to throw/give them away?

The deep conditioner is "hard" and comes in a jar...

But hey, once my hair dried, it was DRIED! There was no moisture to be found anywhere. My hair was frizzy and going in different directions.

And as someone in the other thread said about their hair being "crunchy" after using it, my hair is hard and "crunchy" in certain areas.

I wonder about mixed chicks who have tried the products and what their take is.

I find it hard to believe, looking at the before and after pictures that came with the products, that any of these mixed women went from tow up heads to silky, curly locks. I seriously doubt it.

I'm sticking with my Nexxus and Paul Mitchell knock-offs.

I AGREE , 100% I brought the big size, what a waste of money. My hair was so hard I only brought the leave in moisturizer. I want my money back it was expensive. I think I ended up paying 26 and change for leave in conditioner.

I'm guessing it's the leave-in that makes the hair "hard/crunchy" since you wash out the deep conditioner.

I'm glad I bought the trial. Won't be trying again. I'll use the shampoo, though. That was the best part. The conditioner and leave-in :nono:

Sounds like you were excited about it, Trudy. I was too and almost bought the regular size leave-in but then saw the "trial". I'm glad I opted for that, or I'd be just like you.

And on top of that, I still had to use a little bit of the Biolage hair tonic to comb through the leave-in. Overall, the whole experience was a waste of money and time.

Yes I was excited after viewing all of those photos, I wanted my a hair to have more definition in the curl. now that its has gotten longer, I do not know what to do with it. Its not long enough to do some of the thing I dream of doing and its not short enough to just wash and go. Plus I have all these different textures. The front just hangs down and the back just hangs down and so I have to wear a band to keep it from brushing my shoulders and falling in my eyes and thats fine but its boring after a while plus I work with attorneys all day and I am tired of the "What are we doing with our hair today" look. I brought all these cute combs to put in there but its too thick to get the darn things in and I feel like I am tearing my hair apart. I do like Curlz I only tried it once but I like it I am waiting for my order to come tomorrow. I think I am sending mix chicks back to them. The stuff is horrible. Although they do ship super fast. I got my product in three days.

I think you and I are probably in the same place. My wash and goes don't "go" anymore. I still haven't tried my twist and pin method at night but even with that, my hair is still going to be too big to just run out the house like in days of old.

I tried Pantene's black line when they first introduced it and Mixed Chicks' leave-in reminds me of Pantene's leave-in. For all we know, it might be the same thing with a vanilla extract.

Funny, you work with attorneys as do I. I guess I'll keep the "bun" going this week since this didn't turn out to be anything.
