Misunderstanding hair comments...

Recently, I commented that if I never heard a particular argument about relaxed/natural or kinky/straight hair, I would be alright with that. I did my best to let the OP know I was in no way concerned with the fact that she posted her cousin's experience. It's just that the argument (in general, and wherever it happens in the world) is an old one and prayerfully we can move on from it one day.

I never went back to the thread again until just a few moments ago.

I just want to say that I apologize if I ruffled anyone's feathers. That wasn't what I meant to do. Everyone was saying what I was saying...but they worded it better.

I think my intention and tone were both misunderstood. I have no interest in the least in censoring anyone...just wanted to express that I feel badly when others (like whoever was talking to your cousin) have the nerve the say that people feel self hate when they straighten their hair. That's what I was *yawning* on....not the OP at all! I am not like that. This board is a safe haven for me and a place to come to relax, not a place to go start an argument as it seems some people are always ready to do. I really don't have an argumentative bone in me.

Ayway...to the OP of that closed thread, I apologize. I just *yawn*@ pushy, overbearing, highly opinionated folk who won't let others just exist on the planet in a way that makes them comfortable - straight hair or kinky/curly hair. Everyone should be free to rock their own hairstyle.

It made me sad that I was misunderstood, but, that happens sometimes when writing...and because I rarely go back to see responses to what I write, I totally missed this one.

Is there anyone else on here in LHCF who is like me and comments and then forgets about the thread almost entirely?

Sorry ya'll.
Love ya'll.

Sometimes I can't remember half the comments I posted this week, let alone those last week or before.

It's all good.

It is very brave or you to try to clear that up.:yep:
I relate to this experience, and it is a bad feeling to be misinterpreted.
Due to experiencing something similar, I rarely comment, or lurk on posts unrelated to hair. It is obvious that you have good intentions, so I hope that you continue to have good experiences on this forum.

Kudos to you for your efforts to clarify things. :yep:

That's the thing about written text in fora and emails and such. Communication can sometimes be misinterpreted.

That's so nice of you.

I'm quite new here and I have realized that the best thing for me to do is just read all the good advice on hair and congratulate people.

Awww I have no idea what you are referring to but kudos to you. Girl, I stay posting and not returning. I do this ALL the time. I get sidetracked or caught up in another thread or just start doing other things. I usually and too lazy to go back through and read threads. I am sure lots of people do this too. Don't feel bad. If you intentions weren't bad then forget what everyone else thinks.

That was sooo sweet of you. I did the same thing in the vendors thread and tried to so sorry, but some people will not let it die. I do have to say I was not as nice as I should have been at that time, but after thinking about what I say and how I said it, I had to try to make it right. We do have alot of member that are looking for a fight and if you make that one wrong post "It's On" like a pot of neck bones. Sorry is all that we can say and try to watch what we say and how we say things from this point on. Girl, it's going to be ok. Be blessed my sista.

How kind of you.

Yes I have in the past, what is weird is I was trying to compliment.

That's why a lot of times, I will type what I wanted to say, and then close the window and not even post it. It's so easy to misunderstand typed stuff.

Hey OP I remember that thread because I to left a comment in there, I remember your post because of the yawn. However I don't remember any of the content being offensive.

I've learned that everyone interupt things differently, nothing you can do about it. Don't feel to bad. It's gracious of you to try and set the record straight.

Big hugs to you

I think that posting a comment online can sometimes get lost in translation. Have a great weekend, you troublemaker you LOL

Do the same thing way to often. Things are easily misunderstood if worded or even read the wrong way. That's why I try to stay away from controversial things, I have a quarky sense of humor that could be taken the wrong way easily. Also, life is too short to be upset about something on a forum.

The sentiments and intention are very much appreciated OP. Thank you!

You guys are very kind. Love you for that. Okay, I am off to eat fajitas here at home with my family and browse around on here for a bit. *sending virtual hugs to everyone* Have a great weekend, ladies, and thanks so much for your graciousness!

Blessings,
