me too! :) can't wait to see those pics. Pavarathi thanks for posting that information about Mr. G's I really need a good cut and have been worried about where to go...i may try and check this place out!

Ok, I got there early, but before I could get a good seat to study the price list the put me in a chair and got started on me. The price list was very "busy" because it's like they put every combination of services you could get on there with a price. Prices ranged from $100 to $500. Cutting starts at $275 (with finger styling or shingling), semi perm color $100, permanent color $300 and up, Straight styling (relaxed hair) $100, relaxer retouch either $100 or $200, shingling $175, fingerstlying $175. Silkener services (combo services i.e. styling, cut) $300-$500

Sorry guys I could'nt do better, LOL. There was so much going on on that price list and I didn't get a chance to look at it again until I paid for my service. It's organized in catagories: Color, Cutting, Relaxer, Silkener, Styling and then they list combinations with pricing: Color+Cut, or Cut+color+twist set, relaxer+cut+straight styling.

I'd like to repeat: DON'T KILL THE MESSENGER!!!!!

You and your hair are so darn kuttteee! Such an inspiration and makin me wanna go natural! Beautiful!

The cut is the bomb! I guess I'll stick to my do-it-yourself styling after seeing those prices. :perplexed My butt is cheap right about now.

It's very pretty!!! Didn't you go to devachan before? If so how did this cut compare to theirs?

No, I haven't been to devachan, although I recently started using the Deva line. I've only gone to Miss Jessie's/Curve for my cuts. This would be my third visit.

Awwww, thanks ladies  I appreciate the kind comments on the cut. At first it's like, maaaan, it's a little shorter :( but then those fresh ends and the hair "acting" right makes up for it :)

Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

If I could do "do-it-yourself" as well as you do, I'd be $275 richer this week! LOL!

Anytime you cut, those fresh ends do make up for it :)

My goodness! I didn't realize they were so high. You hair is so on point! Looks like Miss Jessie's really knows what they are doing when it comes to natural hair.

Very cute SO1913.....you're inspiring me to go natural! How much new growth did you have before you decided to BC?

I can't remember how much natural hair I had as far as inches when I cut the remainder of my relaxer, but I know that I was able to put it in a small puff. I transitioned about 16 months.

wow, BEAUTIFUL cut so1913! Do you mind me asking what type of cut is it? It is very pretty.....very pretty!

They call it an "angle/balance" cut

16 months is a long transition, but I think I can do it because I don't want to BC! Is that a braid out your wearing or a wash and go? It's soo pretty.

Well, you don't have to go that long. Go with what you feel comfortable with. Honestly, if I had to do it all over, I would have done it completely differently and over a shorter time.

Oh, it's a wash n' go, or wash n' "diffuse" then go, lol.

i don't know how i missed this thread! Girl, that's money well spent! You got another great cut!! They did a good job trimming because they definitely preserved your length! Looking at your beautiful hair makes me want to book them for my august anniversary haircut...

btw, are u wearing the bare minerals? your skin looks fabulous!!

Ooh you should try this G's place. It's an Aveda concept salon. They'll be using better products than Miss Jessie's and I believe that have to have special training from Aveda too. I'm thinking their prices will not be as high. I've had my natural hair cut at an Aveda concept salon (in Boston) for $85 by a senior stylist. So I would recommend trying this place out first!

Do it for the LHCF team Parvathi! LOL...

ETA: And my stylist at the Aveda salon cut on DRY hair, not straightened. From my understanding Miss Jessie's cuts your hair while it's straight. That annoys me personally cause I never wear my hair straight.

Shut up, in Boston? I've been looking for a salon to take care of my hair while Im there. Can you give me some more info, do they take care of natural hair as well, or basically just a cut/trim type of thing. What's the actual name of the salon (sounds like a dumb question- but is it in an Aveda store, or does it stand alone is what im asking) Which location did you go to, which stylist etc. Sorry so many ???s! Thanks in advance!

I think she would do a good job on your hair because you have a lot of length to work with where I had to go shorter on the top when I first went in for my cut last year due to damage.

Yes ma'am. Got on the Bare Escentuals. I picked up a new product from the line that I used to highlight under the eyes for more of a "glow" effect. Other than the mineral make up, I just have on mascara and lip balm (no color).

Very nice! I don't think the price for the cut and fingerstyling was that bad. I've spent almost that much on braids before. I think for a once or twice a year cut, that's not bad.
