This is how I apply deep Conditioner, Cassia, Leave in and co wash my hair- this method is great for working products through to every strand of dense hair. When I wore wash and go's a long time ago it was a good way to put a curl defining product on (BBD Glass and Curly Pudding and Aveda Elixer). The real trick is that after you apply- you don't touch your hair again until its completely dry.

Just wondering because a friend of mine who is natural is thinking about ordering this for her hair.

shingling isn't a chemical, it's just a technique. The silkiner is a chemical

that part, I'm not sure about. Because it would seem that your hair would need to have some kind of curl to it in order for the shingling to work. But I guess it would be similar to a 2 strand twist, so it could work.

The hair cremes/butters are used to bring out or define the curl pattern in your hair and shingling is just a styling technique to get maximum curl definition. Silkening is another name for texlaxing they came up with.

I use this technique on my hair for wash n go all the time...its just a matter of starting at the nape and working your way up to the crown when applying products. I try to do this when applying leave ins also.

No. Your hair has to already have a curl pattern. The only people I know that use this method are natural. But I am sure people who texturize can do it too becausethey might still have a curl pattern.

The method is used too enhance the curl that is already there.

I use the shingling method minus the heat when I apply my frizz ease gel/fantasia gel mix for my wash n gos. I love the way my hair comes out. I get great curl definition and less shrinkage. I haven't ued her products yet but I do want to try them.

I have already bookmarked that site and study the technique quite often so I will be able to master it once I become completely natural

I am too impatient to try it on my transitioning hair right now (for fear it won't do well to the fact that I have more relaxed hair than natural hair) and I am worried that all my efforts will be in vain.......
