This stuff is terrible. I was so excited when I got it, but that faded when I put it on my wet hair. I am transitioning back to natural and neither of my textures liked it. It made my hair feel hard and stripped. It is supposed to be a moisturizer! I tried it again a couple of days later and the same result. Tried it one more time and the same result.

I don't know all of the ingredients, but I had to shampoo my hair 3 times and DC to feel normal. :wallbash:

Did anyone have the same result? I have a couple of other Miss Jessie's products that I plan to try as well.

Oh wow, I'm sorry it did not work for you! :(

I'm surprised at your results, but it just goes to show how different hair can react to the products.

ETA: I also only have used it on dry hair.

It's not my favorite product in the world, but I know for me it works better on dry hair - not wet. Try that and see. It replenishes the curls in the morning after you've slept on them. It is pretty thick though, which is why I don't like it too much.

I'll try it dry. I couldn't believe how my hair felt. You know how your hair feels after you rinse out a hard gel, that's how it felt. :perplexed

I'm sorry this happened with your hair. I never tried it on wet hair. I typically would use it to moisturize my second day WnG or to dry twist my hair at night. I would try it on dry hair and see if you like it better.

Yes, I had the same result. I used it on my dd's hair...she's natural, and I was hoping that this might be more moisturizing than my beloved N&S. But I believe I had the same results that you did. It was about 2 months ago, I can't remember what happened, but I knew NEVER to use it on her hair again. But instead of throwing it away, since it has petroleum in it, I'll just use it following a conditioner to protect my hair while it's being relaxed. I am not throwing/selling any more products. :nono:

I'll have to find the list of ingredients for you, but I think it had mineral oil too. A few of the "bad" ingredients.

Yeap! I had the same thing happen with my hair, maybe because I have a Twa, I will try it again when it gets longer, but I really like the curly pudding.

WOW that did not happen with me. I got moisture but it appeared that my hair looked dry sometimes. Also, I noticed that it had placenta in as one of its agents for formulating the buttercreeme. Maybe they changed the formula again......Sorry t hsi happened to you

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I have the buttercreme and I like it. I did have the problem you described with the curly pudding though. Dried my hair up like a cotton ball. :nono:

ETA: I also used it on dry or damp hair. Not wet hair.

Well, I tried it dry. Not quite as stripped feeling, but still no good. :-( I have the baby buttercreme, buttercreme, rapid recovery, silkening creme, and two others.

Did you comb or brush it through? I brushed it through detangled hair with the denman. If I just finger smoothed it probably wouldn't have gotten through all of it. If you use too much it can make your hair feel stiff. But once my hair was totally dry it was the softest ever. It was like it sucked the buttercreme up. I don't use it often but nothing has left my hair that soft. I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

Also, what products are you using in conjunction with it? I couldn't use anything else and had to put it on totally naked clean hair. Sometimes I would use the buttercreme and then put the meringue on top but that's it.

I just ordered their new shampoo and conditioner on Monday. It should come today so I'll be back with my review. I was wondering why they never had a shampoo and conditioner all this time to go with the styling products.

Maybe you hair just doesn't like it SL? I've had my hair react that way to certain products that people have raved about here on the board so I understand. I was on the fence about the meringue. I can't use it for a wash and go but I got the best braid outs from the buttercreme/meringue combo (outside of smelling like minty pineapples all day :look:) But I doubt I'd buy it again. I also like the Rapid Recovery (I got a sample with another order) but it didn't do anything a regular DC from the BSS can do for a few dollars so I didn't purchase it.

My BFF gave me the meringue and the pudding because she absolutely hated both. I tried the pudding and liked it with my twist outs (i'm relaxed) and even had a semi decent wash-n-go. But that meringue was the WORST and I felt like my hair was going to SNAP! I had to immediatly wash and DC. My mom, (natural) loves the pudding but hates the meringue. The pudding makes her curls POP while that meringue just makes both our hair feels so yucky!
