I just picked this up at Eckerds. It was in the "ethnic" section (which is all of 2 shelves). This Mirta sister appears to have a whole line of products which seem to have been in existence for a while (u can tell by the packaging). I was attracted to it because it is free of sls. The ingredients are : sulfated castor oil, purified water, hydrolyzed silk protein, fragrance, methylchlorothazuone, methylsothazuone, coloring.

She has a N Oil poo for normal hair. The S Oil one that I got is for dry hair.

Have any of u ladies heard of this line? I have a feeling that it is a Dominican product...Im going to use it tonite and then post a review.

Eckerds, you say?

OK...sorry to give a play-by-play but I just put this in my hair and all I can say is "OOH AHHH...". Strange: its a shampoo but on the directions, its referred to as an "Oil" and says to leave in for 15 to 30 minutes. Then add water to hair until it lathers. The scent and consistency are heavenly (at least to me). Mirta says to follow w/ her Milk Shampoo but Im gonna use AO Egg & Buckthorn, then PM's Supercharged. Ill post results.

I'm pretty sure the Mirtha products are Mexican...

They've been around for a looooong time.

Please do let us know how it goes for you. I didn't like the oil shampoo because I had a hard time getting it out of my hair. But let us know how it goes....

I wasn't much into instructions then (highschool) and I'm SURE I used it wrong.

Yes Tracy, the label says its distributed in Mexico. Whats weird is that I think I love this product, yet Im not sure what the h*** it does!!! The label says shampoo but it feels slippery going on the hair. I love the scent. But then it didnt lather at all upon rinsing like the label says it should. But then again, my hair felt clean!! And the slip was comparable to Pantene Smooth and Sleek, which to me, is like slip-in-a-bottle....so what's the deal w/ this product? I had no problem rinsing out of my hair (I usually rinse obsessively for a long time anyhoo). In any event, I used AO Sea Buckthorn and Egg poo to cleanse my scalp - - even though I didnt think I needed to....I just did it because the label says to follow w/ her shampoo so I thought a poo was needed afterwards. Then I conditioned w/ GPB mixed w/ avocado oil and aloe vera. Then PM Supercharged condit...With each of the 3 products, the comb just glided through my hair. I then used my usual Razac Leave in, Profective 3 Phase Oil, and Keracare Silken Seal. I airdried 75% loose and then put in a ponytail.

All in all, I give Mirta a 9 out of 10 because of the slip and scent and the way my hair felt soft and smooth...all of this BEFORE conditioning. Its a keeper...just warning others about the weirdness....

A 9 out of 10 is pretty good. Did you see anything else from this line at the store? So, I guess it's not really a shampoo (what do you think?).

Allandra, She has a Milk Shampoo, a Balsam Shampoo and a couple of other condits I think. It didnt lather like the bottle said it would, but I oved the way it felt going on my hair...extremely slippery yet not oily although its called an Oil shampoo....weird though because I cant say that it did anything miraculous to my hair...I just liked the experience!

my mom used t buy me those products when i was younger, i dont remebe them much but it had been out forquite some time....

The Mirta is Cuban. Her products are distributed in Mexico probably because it's more cost effective. I used Mirtha like 10 years ago or more. I used to use a creme lotion w. vitamin E which was good but it was to oily and pricey for me at the time. I may have tried her other products in the past but there was nothing that I could remember that I truly loved about her product. My aunt used to use the hot oil treaments by and she really liked it.
