Gosh you guys, sometimes this hair thing really gets to me. I'm so serious about my hair it ain't FUNNY... We share the good and the bad right...

So I posted at the end of April my relaxer and the tracks I had added then. My stylist insisted on trimming my hair that day, I did need to even things after I accidentally had trimmed a bit too much on one side back in March, so I said ok, but ONLY a little. I should have paid more attention and really stood my ground as to how much she was cutting instead of trusting her (I love her and been with her for 3 years but still I DON'T TRUST NO ONE WITH SCISSORS NEAR MY HAIR). In fact while I was sitting under the dryer during my DC I witnessed her chop a girl from APL to a little past SL. This girl had gorgeous hair and the last time I was there I was staring at her hair wondering if it was all hers because it was soooo gorgeous - my stylist is amazing with weaves and this was the salon. Well she had 2 tracks added like mine, and my stylist gave her a "trim." I should have known then and there, but I digress, figured maybe she wanted this kind of cut.

Anyways, well I went to a couple of inches past shoulder and nearing APL RIGHT BACK TO SHOULDER! :wallbash::ohwell::sad::nono:. I'm kinda PISSED to say the least, I didn't fully realize it with the tracks. I took them out on Friday (took 1.5 hours I moved slowly and carefully). I had no damage and didn't loose a lot of hair at all mostly just sheds from 5 weeks of being weaved up. I threw a tantrum and slammed the door and had a little cry, lol. Yes my 28 year old grown self had a tantrum lol. I was mad as hell. But I keep getting amazing compliements on my new "haircut" everyone apparently loves it and yesterday I was called the "Black Jackie O" by this white dude I know . And I get compliments on how healthy and "vibrant" it looks. So I'm licking my wounds and moving forward and know that it will grow back.

My ends look healthy though so I'm happy.

So anyways, not quite back to Square 1, but some progress chopped off. At the same time, I get a new fresh start for the summer a nice short do' and new'ish look for a while - I'm moving to Los Angeles (from NYC) on June 30th so a fresh start is what I need right now. So moving forward from here...

I decided to for the next 3 months or so to do a modified bootcamp with myself. I roller set for the first time since 2007, it didn't take too long and I loved the results. I FINALLY got the Saran Wrap thing down thanks to that thread that popped up a few days ago about how to do it properly. So if I want a straight look I'll do that and lightly flat iron the roots. I'm currently 6 weeks post in this pic. I am OFFICIALLY in direct heat rehab! I'm gonna try this one more 'gain and hope that the demons don't come back to grab me. I think flat ironing my roots on the lowest heat will keep me in check (I may blow out the roots from time to time too). But no heat on the ends at all. More pics in the FOTKI.

I'm sorry this happen to you roxie. She didnt trim that she hacked that off.:nono: Well at least you hair still looks cute:grin:

Sorry that happend Roxie...
But I think your hair ROCKS at any length!!! I love your hair girl! Well I just got my hair cut to SL and love it. I think because my hair hasn't been this length in quite some time. I like to experiment with new styles. I stay in your style albums. Try to turn it in to a positive and just think. You get to continue your hair journey and your hair will be even HOTTER!!:lick:

I think we all understand your emotion. Many of us are very emotional when it comes to our hair.

Your hair looks so healthly. You will reach your hair goals, whatever they are, just have patience.

So why are you moving to California? Something good I hope!

Your hair is beautiful. I know you don't want to hear this but it will grow back. I'm curious about your stylist though. It seems that she has a habit of chopping long hair back to shoulder length and adding tracks. Makes me wonder...:perplexed

Tanisha77: Girl you are reaaaally tryin to make me go back and whoop some a$$ aren't you... lol Tryin to excite me like that, lol. Hell I'll get mad all over again, I'm calm now and it took EVERYTHING in me not to show up at the shop with my crew. Ooooh wait, I don't have a crew... I've never even been in a fight before, lol. She's amazing though and I love her, she means well, but this was no trim, I agree...

CHEEKQUEEN :blush::blush::blush: Thank you sooooo much girl, I was up in your fotki the other day too, I'm glad to see we inspire each other!

moving to Cali because I've been saying it for the last 5 years and it was time to turn the talk into action. I'm going out there for work (film/tv - I love that medium and out here in NY it's a lot of theater which I love but dang it's time to move on and make some $$). I'm also going to be training out there with the Sports Club LA (I do personal training with one of the ones in NY now). So I've already got a job, getting my apartment when I go out there to visit for a week in June, and getting my car the day after I land for good :-). All set and excited.

charmtreese Thanks sooo much! I'm getting used to it.:yep:

Thanks so much, and I do know it will grow back and that I know how to retain that growth so it will be ok.

Yeah it was really strange actually, I think she's REALLY into blunt even looks, and unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) hair doesn't grow evenly as we all know. I don't really care for completely blunt ends per se. I mean it's cool when you're hair's at the length you want, otherwise I LOVE long natural layers and the V shape. Well you live and learn, and I WILL not allow a trim. Hell I will not let anyone tell me to get an extra service I have to pay for anyways, you know they charge extra for trims...

And your hair STILL looks fab! :yep:

(Remember a while back when you asked us to kick your arse if you started using too much heat? Don't think I forgot, I won't hesitate to pull out one of these :spank: )

:lachen::lachen::lachen: Chiiiiiiiile I forgot, I be forgettin things sometimes, lol. I get addicted to stuff and can't stop. Like that REALLY YUMMY dish from this Thai restaurant around me, I went there and ate 3 TIMES this week... Yeah, it's bad. And let's not talk about THE SIMS... Although I kicked that a bit but I may play today. I'm laying off of it, I just love straight hair, but the roller wrap will help me maintain a straight look. I'm getting better.

You shoulda slapped me when I posted that thread about loving to flat iron, lol. I was revolting!:spinning:

All these stories about hairdressers 'cutting' hair instead of 'trimming' hair is making me nervous.
I don't think i've had a trim since 2003/2004 or something...I am WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overdue and was thinking of getting a flat iron and trim next month.

Foxie...as you said, at least your hair is healthy and it may take a bit more time to reach APL, but your hair is lookin'
:mwahahafire: HOT:mwahahafire: even with the cut. Healthy hair is more imporant than length IMO.
Just popped into your Fotki, and maybe I'm wrong, but the cut wasn't that drastic...you'll be APL in no time.
Love the W'n'G by the way.
Keep it up!

LOLLLL!!!! Girl, don't get me started on The Sims! A few years back I had never heard of it till I went to one of my cousins house. She showed me the game and how to play. That was at 7 in the evening. Why'd I stay up till 8 the next morning playing that damn game? When I finally went to bed, why'd I dream about The Sims? When I woke up, why'd I get right back on the computer? :lachen: That game should come with a warning label or something, it's like crack!!!

vestaluv1: Thanks so much girl, lol. You're too funny, I'm totally flattered. It was a big difference from now to March right before I saw her. So I'm back to where I was about around Feb or so. Which is fine, it's not THAT much, but it was at the same time. Oh well though, I'm getting used to it and I think I actually like it, I'm just going to keep doing what I do.

tiffers: I started simming (haha yeah only real sim players know that word) back in 2001, a year after the sims 1 came out... I was in college, and my friends and I would take turns and HAVE A SIGN UP to play the game, and you were only allowed 2 hour time slots, we'd rotate between classes and play, lol. And watch each other play. Fast forward to the sims 2, I actually became a VERY well known sims 2 downloads/modifications creator and was a featured artist on 2 major sims sites before I started my own. I got paid for all of it too, lol. I had to step back and lead my life, lol, and now I only play once in a blue moon. But girl wait till the sims 3 comes out.... Did you hear about it yet!? WARNING ----> WWW.THESIMS3.EA.COM. Coming at you in 2009!:nono::nono::look:

Roxie, sooo sorry to hear that she cut too much but like the other ladies said you hair still looks fabulous!!!:bling:

And you guys who got addicted to Sims, don't EVER play World of Warcraft!!! It's THE most addicting online RPG ever!!! :swordfigh
