You're worrying about wearing it out on the street? I have worn it on the streets, to work, for meetings, for interviews. I LOVE that style. When I had braids, it was my way of creating braid-outs. I'd do it on damp hair, wear it for a couple of days, then rock an awesome braidout.

And I STILL call it "French Braid". IMO a French braid is an style where hair is braided in one or two rows--usually one down the middle of the head--but even when you create a central part and do two rows, I still call 'em French Braids. Just coz this one is on the side doesn't change it's being "French Braid" to me.

I love the style but am very self-conscious of
my fat face with all my hair pulled back.

Plus I haven't tried it with make-up,
bigger earrings, etc.

I tried this as an easy up-do
because I was too lazy to wash my hair
and didn't want to wear it out.

But thanx for the ego boost.

Well, it's a french braid. Milk maid braid/heidi braid is braided up, not down the head. If the hair is too short for that, it can be french braided up to a similar effect.

If you search YouTube for milk maid braid you can see the difference.

I wear mine out like this on rainy days, or to the gym. Since my hair is short the back of it is not as tidy as I would like. Your style on the other hand is gorgeous!
