None of the CVS stores I went to had it, so I went into Rite-Aid and it was there. I don't know if there's a Rite-Aid near you. . .if not, there's a thread somewhere about ebay selling the 1 oz. tube for a good price. I'm on Day 2 of the Neosporin AF challenge. Happy MN-ing!

No not at all! I think that a lot of people just don't really believe in topical growth aids but it's good to see some proof.

Bsweet, thanks for the pics- especially the one with the ruler. I have some questions though . . . how much growth do you normally get in a 5 week time period? From the ruler pic, it looks like you have a bit more than 1/2 inch stretched. Since hair grows about 1/2 inch per month on its own give or take-- has this helped you grow from a much slower rate to a normal one? This kind of reminds me of my own hair at around 5 weeks post. I promise I'm not trying to be picky or difficult, I just guess I'm still one of those folks that MizaniMami was talking about. Either way, nice growth girl!

well sitaslick you might be right. miconazole nitrate does not grow your hair..it just cleans the scalp to allow your growth to come out (thats my version of how it works). So yes maybe it has allowed my hair to grow more normally. All i know this is the most growth ive ever got in 5 weeks. I have stretched 3 months once and maybe had the same amount of growth or less.

How often do you apply the MN? Do you mix it with anything?

There have been several people that have posted pics of progress using miconazole nitrate. The threads are so deep that they may have been missed by many.

When I 1st posted that I was using Neosporin AF, I posted pics of my new growth to show proof.

k ..i just woke upWell for the first three weeks I applied it every night directly to the scalp before I went to sleep and then put on my satin cap. One week in, I started to mix it with hydrocortisone that I had laying around the apartment cause someone else said they did it (I think it was sade7). And for the last like week and ½ I have applied it like every other night.

yes its a anti fungal..so all it does it remove bacteria..and as long as there is nothing clogging the scalp then hair can grow clearly and freely. I think of it as daily washing the scalp. So by applying it every day or every other day, it is cleaning your scalp. SO its daily washing with out all the hastle of rollers or air dying.

To me it looks like you got almost 3/4 of an inch in 5 weeks...I think that's excellent growth! I can't wait until I reach the 5 week point with MN. I think I'm going to order some from the person on ebay...I can't afford $7 a tube of Neosporin AF...which I think I'll need 2 tubes a week at least.

One question...how big/small are your parts???? I've been making bigger parts to make the tube last longer

Well this is good - I noticed that MN left like these little balls of hard stuff behind where my scalp always itched before. Now I'm oiling those itchy areas and putting the MN on every other day. No more hard flakes when I washed. I am measuring the breakage spot I have in the back. So I should be able to really tell. It's two inches short in one place in the back. So I'll remeasure it in a month.

I just started this week with MN. So it's too soon to tell. But I feel like it's really helped my scalp so far. I want healthy scalp so that I can have healthy hair and then the growth will come in time.

P.S. I'm still mad that my sister who does nothing to her hair (doesn't even wash it) has bra-strap length natural 3b/4a hair! But I can't compare my head to anyone elses. Just let it grow. I'm getting there, right? Right!
