Measuring Growth

Okay I know I may sound dumb , but bear with me. Currently my hair is short tapered in the back and cut in layers on the top. I have 2 inches in the back and 3 on top and my bangs.

If hair grows 5-6 inches per year. When I measure my hair do I add 5-6 inces to what I already have (estimate of course) to kinda give me an idea of what I will obtain or do I measure from the root and add 5-6 inces to that. Can you also use a ruler to measure your growth.

Thanks ladies. Is their anyone who has started out really short and came along way and can share photos. (I am still trying to load my photos) I am tyring to see what a year could possibly give me. I have no problems with my hair, not shedding and my hair is healthy.

hey kk! i use a paper ruler ( printed from the web) to measure my new growth. you should expect 5-6 inches from the ends of your hair ( unless your have a severe breakage issue) meaning add 5-6 inches to your current length:yep:
