Hey ladies,

I need to find something to do with my for the summer that will be running and working out friendly. I'm trying to figure out what type of braids or twist are best when your hair is MBL of longer.

Suggestions needed...pics and video links welcome.

Help a sister out:lachen: Thanks!

BTW, I'm texlaxed so I have to add hair to my twist or braids for them to hold.

My hair is nowhere near this long, but maybe you could try medium/ large twists? Like the diameter of a nickel, depending on the thickness of your hair?

I am MBL and just put Kinky Twists in my hair. I have also worn box braids at this length.

I only add the same thickness of extension hair as is in the part I am working with. I keep my extensions in for 6-8 weeks and wash every two weeks.

Austro-Afrikana What kind of hair did you you for the twist? It looks like regular kinky twist, marley braid, is too short.

I've never tried them but I remember about some good info found somewhere, I think here. It may be common knowledge but it doesn't hurt to share it anyway (and I had no idea about it). Basically, when you get box braids, if you braid your own hair only then the scalp gets matted after a while. If you add extensions while braiding instead, you don't end up with crazy matting.

Thanks for the tag! But I'm only sl at the moment, I just self installed some senegalese twists. Unfortunately, I don't like the look on me:sad:

Ms. Tiki when they are down they are bsl, it's too hot to be wearing extra long heavy twists. I just don't like the look on me. I guessI should have done them smaller.
