MBL and longer tell us is it worth the sweat and tears?

I think it is worth it. Just don't mess with your hair to much. I always keep it up so that i won't keep looking at the length. by doing it this way, i was able to be surprised at what length my hair reached when i would put in a relaxer. I hope that makes since.:spinning:

This is me~ I love the wow factor behind bunning for 12 weeks then relaxing. Almost like a big reveal :look:.

I would think that it is worth it. Lots of people say blacks can't grow hair long. To prove them wrong is worth it in itself, and the self kudos that you can do it.

Heck at your current length *which I think is MBL already* :look:. I'd be happy.

Totally worth it! :yep:

When you can walk into a room and shut it down with your hair(I'm not at *that* point yet), that has got to be worth it!:drunk:

Damn just that thought alone gave me goose bumps. I have been on this journey for 2 years now and in the midst had a lot of messed up things happen to my tresses. But I just can't wait for girls to be whispering..*is that all hers* Naw I don't think thats all hers. Look at her edges...lolol:lachen:

As I grow towards MBL, I would say it's worth it. Especially when you also focus on keeping the hair healthy.

I ignore BSL, because it's not a body point. MBL should be if you measure from the nape of your neck to the crack of your butt, and find the halfway point of that. It might be where your bra is, it might be a couple of inches lower, shoot, it might be a couple of inches higher.

Someone posted a good chart, a couple of days ago....... *goes to find it*

Thank you Kiya, I was wondering how I would know if I am midback. This really helps.

Ok I clearly shouldnt be in here but I just wanted to say that it is cos of ladies like you that I will reach my goal og BSL. Your hair is lovely - keep at it love...

IMO, you're not too far from MBL.

This is just my opinion but everyone has different heights, wears different bras etc. Not everyone's MBL will be the same. I've seen some member here, and their hair will be touching their APL, but I'll see another member who's hair looks the same length but it's touching her BSL, because of the differences in height, I'm hoping I'm making sense.

Also some people wear their bra really low and are dissapointed that they arent BSL but if they wore their bra 2 inches higher like member XYZ does then they would be BSL already. For this reason I will not even count BSL for me. It's the only length than is not measure by a part of the body. I'll be going from APL then MBL. I dont really want MBL but i'm just saying.

What i mean is that I think your bra is lower than most, and I think you're close to MBL. :)

Anyway, your hair is beautiful. And I'm not just saying that, I noticed it in the OT forum. So don't be discouraged. I'd be happy to have just half of that right now.

A agree that she is already MBL. :yep:

I thought instead of BSL, we agreed that we'll use BSB (below shoulder blade) or Nipple Length :look: as the between marker for APL and MBL?

Reaching waist length was a thrill and (healthy) waist length hair is beautiful. But I do believe that I prefer the "convenience" of MBL over WL hair. That's not to say that I'll never do waist length again, but for now I'm good. :)

Hitting MBL was worth it (I need to update my pics lol). People make a big deal out of it, and my hair and I are bffs FINALLY at age 35 lol. Waist length is right around the corner, and I can't believe I can say that! I remember when APL seemed an impossible dream. The great thing about MBL hair? It pretty much looks good no matter what. I thought WL was my ultimate goal, but as I should be grazing by years end, I'll keep going.

Find your personal perfect reggie and just keep working it cuz it works and it's worth it! LOL God bless!

I think the real question is not about length. It's about your idea of what beautiful hair really is...my image of beautiful hair is long, luscious, dark black hair that hangs in a floating sheet around my shoulders and back. It shines, it moves with an inherent wind and its alllll mine.

Some women would love a sassy bob or blunt cut shoulder length or layered collarbone length or...well the list goes on.

My goal was never MBL, but since I hit BSL...why stop now? But technically, I already have my dream hair, so yes, anything more would certainly be worth it.

It should be a fun hobby/project imo. If there's any sweat and tears involved then let it go (and your hair will probably keep growing anyway). A lot of people with the longest, most luxurious locks in this world often have very simple care routines and don't really think much about their hair. I know this is an older thread but OP asks should she just be happy with bsl and I say an attitude of gratitude is important too.

I'm not there right now since I chopped several months ago but it was definitely worth it. I'm heading back there because I enjoyed it that much.
