Evenin all-

Tonight I did a spur of the moment mayo treatment. I'm hoping that it will stop this breakage I got all of the sudden. I don't seem to have major breakage but just these very short "C" shaped hair breaks. Do y'all think the mayo will help? Do I need stronger protein? protein at all?

why are you using mayo??? is it for a natural alternative?????

the only reason i ask is .... imo.......if i was to use a natural alternative i'd go for an egg or avocado(does that have protein????....)

i think you would need protein to help strengthen the hair.....

breakage could also mean your hair is not moisturised enough.

hth.....hhg

Ty for the response :) I read somewhere to try mayo. I wanted to stay away from a hardcore protein, tried that before and I was steps away from keeping my head shaved. I will try more moisture and see if that helps.

Mayo contains eggs, so I think of it as watered-down protein. :ohwell: My hair likes it though, I use it. If you are having noticeable breakage, you may be better off with the Aphogee 2-minute reconstructor.

I'm interested about how this turns out. I too have Aphogee 2 minute Reconstructer and my ends were very damage from dying tips. I clipped most of the damage ends off....so if the mayo works for you I might try it for myself!

I also have Keratin from Lexxus Nexxus but its too rough for my hair.....

Question: Are you natural or relaxed?

I am relaxed and I've been using mayo faithfully for over five years. Put the mayo on dry hair and wait an hour. Then shampoo and condition as normal. If you see breakage again, stop with the mayo, wait a week and try a protein treatment made for hair. Good luck.

I am relaxed as well and mayo is a great protein treatmnent for my hair, follow Angelicus advice and make sure to moisture afterwards with a great conditioner.

I'm natural. I tried the mayo it didn't work though hair is shiny lol. I think I will look into the 2 min Aphogee and see if that works. My hair is pretty delicate so i'm trying to avoid anything hardcore.
