I just discovered a couple of weeks ago that my babygirl's old receiving blankets also work as nice hair wrap towels (The perfect size too!) when I get out of the shower after co-washing. My drying towels were definitely too big and too thick to use as hair towels.
I lightly press my hair with the towel aka receiving blanket, next I wrap it and twist the back into a knot. I leave it on for a couple of minutes while I continue to dry off, then I take it off and let my hair finish air drying. Every other week I wash and dry all the blankets. Hey, I have saved money!
Also when I wash my babygirl's hair (1-yr.-old now), I have been flipping her baby bib over to the vinyl side and tying it around her neck but then twisting it to hang down her back. Sometimes I have also bought one of those large plastic desposable bibs from the $store just for this purpose.
This has worked great to keep the water off her clothes and neck as I wash her hair while she lays on her back on our kitchen counter. I support her neck with a large sponge while I wash and condition her hair.
If you have, in what way have you been cheap?
