Maxiglide or FHI? Which do you prefer?

I am currently on the search for a new hair appliance to treat myself for the New Year --- I have a Maxiglide which i love and cherish, but i am looking for a better alternative to the infamous "teeth"...although they smooth my new growth like a charm! It's just really bulky, and they break sooo easily ( i am on my third one!). Any ideas!??!?!
