My maxiglide came yesterday i took my sew in down washed with Nixion dc with lamar bone marrow then herbal essence new con let my hair air dry overnight dapped a little coconut oil on the ends and broke out the maixiglide it did not go through my hair in one pass more like 3 and the ends still look frizzy where did i go wrong it looks ok but the ends are not as straight as the roots for some odd reason my roots get very straight and the ends look like crap any suggestions ? and how often do you use it? i was thinking once a week but it took me like three hours to complete my hole head my sister was like one side is really straight the digital camera is on the fritz so no pictures maybe tomorrow

I'm not a natural anymore, but I can still help.

Did you comb ur hair out before going throw the maxiglide comb ?

Did you put it on the right setting ?

yes i ran a regular comb through each section befor i used it and the setting i had it on was 5 and i finished at 12:30 and it is now 2:30 and it is starting to swell i think i am just going to find some one who can press it

I'm not an expert but maybe u need a heat protectant when u use the steam. I think the steam is what gets the hair strait. Hope all else goes well! :)

I on'y use mine on blowdryed hair because when I did try it on my air-dryed hair (wavy/curly) I do have to go over the hair at least 2-3 times.

When I blowdry my hair, I steam the hair and the ends and it straigtens it all in one pass like a press.

Still thinking on what the issue may be......

I don't have this problem when I use it on my cousins natural hair, I always use the steam though because it adds more shine and softness. As for myself I'm relaxed, and at 11wks post, my aunt said, "I'd like to see what the maxiglide could do to that", meaning my NG, so I pass it through once and she was impressing and so was I. I think you should turn temp. up a little and the sound you hear fromthe stream is just the steam it shouldn't be your hair frying unless you have a deffected one.

Definitely use a heat protectant an dmake sure the heat is not up too high.

Make sure you detangle very well and use the K-Cuter comb cuz that's the best thing since premade waffles!

I would use it after I wash...I would put my products in and let my hair airdry overnight or during the day (tied up). Then I'd spray some heat protectant on there and then I would put my MAXIglade at a reasonable temp and glide it through my hair SLOWLY without pressing down all the way and I would release a steam puff or two on the way down. It would straighten rather nicely..though it would take a while to do the whole head.

thanks ladies i will try all the suggestions my hair looked so cute at the house by the time me and my sister was on the train plattform she was looking at me like wtf? they don't call it the windy city for nothing! also i don't think my hair was airdried all the way how many times would you use the maixglide i was thinking once a week? i also bought a hP

I first make sure your hair is bone dry (no moisture in the scalp) before starting. Then I'd use a higher setting, with smaller sections, and steam the ends. Best of luck.

My hair is holding up good. Last night I put coconut oil on the ends and carol’s daughter healthy hair butter tied it down this morning sprayed some heat protect ant on the ends hit it with the maxi glide and wore my hat on the train and it looks good  hopefully I have found me a system to keep my hair
