Hello girls!

So, I purchased a Maxiglide, and I got it yesterday. I tried it on my mom's hair, and it came out okay, it's just that I couldn't get close enough to the roots. Both my mom's hair type and mine are 4a, and we're natural. My mom is really good with a hot comb, and has been doing both her hair and mine forever, and everyone always thinks that our hair is permed because it's so straight.

So, here's the problem, I can't use a hot comb properly, which is the reason why I want a good flat iron. The Maxiglide seems too big, and I can't get close enough when it comes to the nape area, the front area, or the sides (close to my ears). I was thinking about returning this one, and purchasing the miniglide, but it has no temp control, and that's a little scary, so I don't know about that.

I have a FHI iron, and it did a pretty ok job, but because it didn't go "through" my hair, I think my hair started to fall out because of it, since my hair is used to a hot comb. I wanted the maxiglide because of the detangling pins, which has the same effect as a hot comb, and seemed to work well. So, what should I do? Should I get the miniglide?

Sorry for this long post, and thanks in advance!

Same here. You also don't want to hold it in your hair for too long either. Although I do think a hot comb would get hotter than the miniglide.

Thanks for your input! I ended up ordering it this morning, because I would like to try it out this weekend. I'll post results if I get it in time.
