Maintaing Bantu Knot Styles ?

Hey Ladies,

I just did a bantu knot set last night (took it down this morning) and it came out pretty cute, kind of like a loosely curled fro. I was wondering how to maintain it for the next couple of days . Should I put it back in knots every night ? I think that would be too much manipulation. If you ladies have any suggestions please help a sista out :yep:

I redo mine every night
I treat it like a wet set, and do a light spitz of water
and I smooth it out bit
I do a double strand twist then I twist it into a bantu knot

Thanks for responding Mrs. Green, do you comb the section before you redo the knot or do you just start twisting it ?

I do recomb/paddle brush to get the shed hair out. I do them fresh over. I'm not part of the no comb/brush club :look:. I moisturize and seal again if needed.

You can redo them every night as a wet set. I usually pile my hair high atop my head, loosely tie a scarf on backwards (with the knot in the front and the majority of it situated at the back of my head) so that the perimeter of my hair covered, but the center is free and resting on the long part of the scarf and go to sleep. Hope that makes sense.

I've been doing the bantu knot-out style for over a week now. I've been re-knotting every night to maintain the style. I do not comb nor brush, I just smooth sections of my hair with my fingers. Last night, I got away with not re-knotting my hair and decided to put my hair in a ponytail on top of my head. This morning, I just fluffed it out and it turned out pretty nice except there were some areas with frizzy ends.
