I am in love with this girl's color. Any tips on how to achieve it without breaking my hair off (as I did using African Pride highlights)? My dark hair doesn't 'take' to color unless it's very strong, unfortunately.

TIA

Hey Lorraine,

It's good to see you over here at the Hair Forum. I think this color is lovely. I bet Tracy could give you some great advice.

I don't have any tips as far as how to color, but it is really pretty. I'd love to try some color but I'm so scared, my hair is very fragile, lol

I would personally go to a color technician and let them suggest what would be best....

u would have to strip your hair and use a very high volume developer...but it is gorgeous

Does this product contain ammonia or peroxide? What is the safest hair color for dark hair that does not contain any of the bad ingredients?

Lorraine- do you already have color in your hair or is that your natural hair color?

Lorraine, there's a member here by the name of Belladona who has a similar hair color as shown above. She has an album, too.:yep:

i have a lye relaxer. and i use this product FAITHFULLY!!

it hasn't ruined my hair. the only thing is you can't use it over metallic dyes. i had feria in my hair previously--which is metallic. i liked feria but i like this better b/c i didn't have to lift or bleach. it lifts and deposits in one step.

when i used it over the feria that made my hair break off but i have since cut that part out and haven't had any problems. i've been using it for a year and a half.

my color is basically the same as in the pic!! :yep:
