Lopsided

Hi ladies. I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight as the left side of my hair is thinner and slightly shorter than the rest. It used to be something I could mask pretty well so it didn't bother me much--but now its like all around the left side of my head(except the front) it is broken--thus making the hair appear thin. I sleep on my right side most of the time so I don't think its that. What else could it be? This is my second real battle with this and I need to find a preventative method. (last time I just trimmed frequently until both sides were even)

Are you wrapping your hair? if so this could be a part of the problem, if not I say scalp massages to get the blood flowwing more in that area to speed up the growth. If your not taking vitamins you may want to add some vitamins like: Biotin, MSM, L-Lysine, Flax oil, a multi-vitamin, and some Hair, skin and nail. Changing your way of eating may help also more water intake and protein from chicken, fish, etc. and more fruits and vegetables. Earlier this summer a Dominican hairstylist told my cousin that a DC w/every service will thicken her thinner side of hair, maybe this could help and cornrows/protective styling maybe needed. Also, are you relaxed and how often do you relax?

BeautifulWideEyes,

No i'm not relaxed. I press if I wear my hair straight. I have recently started back with a multi vitamin and flaxseed--oh yes, and also an egg a day--so i'm hoping that helps. Also, what is a DC? Where can I get it?
Thank you for the advice. :)

DC is a Deep Condition. I get my hair deep conditioned every time I go to the salon. This has helped quite a bit with my hair in general. I also suffere from this problem, and notice that it is usually caused by stress. I wrap my hair, but I wrap in different directions every couple of weeks. Though, that hasn't really seemed to make any difference. I've also noticed that the more water I drink, and the more vitamins I take, the better the left side of my hair is. I have been sluffing on the vitamins for the last few months, but plan to get back on them for the winter months as this will be the best time to do something for my hair.
