Looking for a Medium-level protein treatment

I used Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstrutor today and it just did not do it for me. My hair needs some protein and there just wasn't enough in there. I'm not sure if it's a light protein conditioner or not, but I'm not looking to try Aphogee 2 Step yet. I want something in between, if anything leaning towards the stronger side.

I'm living in Portland right now and would love to get something on the ground. I've seen one BSS (which has a bad rep for selling old products). I saw ORS hair mayo in Walgreen's but I'm not sure what strength that would be.

Help much appreciated. TIA.

Are you sure the Aphogee wasn't enough? Is it because you hair was soft afterwards?

IMO, the hair mayo is milder protein that Aphogee. I was a die hard user before they switched the formula. Now it just performs so-so.

Yeah my hair was soft afterwards, which I wasn't expecting but it still had a mushiness about it that wasn't quite right.

Also weird thing, i colored my hair about two weeks before I got some braids put in (August 1 or so) that I just took out. When i first washed my hair after the color, it felt processed. I don't remember how it felt in washes after that but today, it didn't feel different at all.

Hmm, if after the 2 minute it felt mushy, the ORS will be no better. Hopefully some of the ladies who use more hardcore than the Aphogee will chime in.

Personally, I'd recommend Nexxus Emergencee with no heating cap under the dryer for 10-15 mins or so until it gets hard. Then shampoo it out. Then follow w/ a moisturizing DC.

Some people will probably recommend the Joico K-Pak reconstructor but from my understanding it's not as strong as the Emergencee. The Emergencee does the job but isn't as strong as the hardcore Aphogee (2 step).

I've been incorporating a Weekly Protein/Reconstructor into my Fall Winter Regimen. Here are some of the ones that I have that are readily accessible:yep::

Giovanni Nutra-Fix
Nexxus Emergencee, Nexxus Keraphix
Millennia Mud Volcanic Ash Reconstructor
Sebastian Penetraitt
Tigi Dumb Blonde
Joico K-Pak Reconstructor
Aubrey Organics GPB
Roux Mendex

It seems like Nexxus Emergencee is the winner. I'll try to get my hands on it tomorrow and see how it works out.

and thanks Esq.2b for the directions.
