I was doing a search for MTG, came across the site below, and was amazed at how similar the advice for mane care is to the care given on this site. I have to say I was ready to order everything they mentioned but had to stop myself. Although the Healthy Hair Care Moisturizer and the Oster brush sound interesting.

My thoughts exactly! Since the MTG and Mega Tek seemed to work for our hair, it makes me wonder about ALL the other stuff they mentioned on the site. The brush looks the most promising.

I know! But I'm already trying not to jump on anymore bandwagons, so the last thing I want to do is keep track of horse hair tips in addition to the overflow of info I already get here on LHCF.

It all the horse info looks legit though. I was debating about whether or not to get some coconut oil and now that that horse website mentioned as well as all the ladies on here...think I'm going to have to pick some up

I believe that the Maker of Mega Tek Equyss (sp), lurked here at one time or at least the marketer did because we tried to get a discount for them, They also have a line marketed to Humans and it is like twice what the Horse line costs, a few members still use it. So I would not be suprised to see info that we have used and practiced for years on there site. There was a hugh Mega Tek thread somewhere around here.

OT but you guys on this site always say coconut oil smells great but I never smell anything and i use Spectrum Organic Coconut oil....I've been using it for along time and I've never smell anything good...what kind do you guys use?

i use extra virgin, vitamin shoppe brand. it smells like coconut. if i'm correct, the spectrum one isn't extra virgin, and i don't really like its smell.

also, there's a recent coconut oil brand thread... do a search for it; should be helpful~hth!

spectrum coconut oil was the first one i tried and i thought the same thing. it did not smell good.
but now i use and love GNC coconut oil and it smells just like coconuts. also it is silkier than spectrum and is white in color. my spectrum was an amber color. i will never use spectrum again

I use Spectrum Organic Unrefined coconut oil. I know I've read that unrefined is more scented than refined. I've only used the unrefined kind, and it smells good and is potent. When I bought mine at Vitamin Shoppe, they were selling both unrefined and refined.

I swear I am not looking up animal hair growth! I typed in oil, coat, hair, and strengthen because I wanted to find out if coating your hair with oil would strengthen it and came across this site:

First is to have the animal checked to insure there is no underlying disease that is the root of why the coat is not growing. Anemia, thyroid etc. are all instantly recognized through reflection in the coat.

Also, many of the commercial foods are too high in proteins for our typical canine, even those under stress of being shown. And yes those stresses can affect the canine coat as well ) Don't think it is only humans that feel stress and respond through poor hair!

Since earliest primitive times people have connected the sheen of their animal's coats with good dietary practices and health. Changes in an animal's hair or fur almost always signalled nutritional deficiencies or disease.

The coat hair is the external manifestation of how and what they eat. External hair beauty is a direct reflection of internal health. Essential Fats (EFAs)
Along with proper diet healthy hair needs two essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6, that are not produced naturally by the canine. Knowing What To Feed
Combing a well balanced protein based diet with fresh seasonal fruits and veggies is a great insurance policy for growing fabulous coat. Coat Growing Tips
Here are some other hair growing tips:

1.

Feed a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat.

Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.

I really think all miracle products should be given code names so as to deter companies from tripling prices and sticking new stickers and names for the sake of taking advantage of hair conscious people like those that frequent this board!! Initials just aren't quite doing it

I vote "coconut magic" for MT..."luxurious coconut magic" for OCT..."stank magic" for MTG...MN...still workin on that one...
