This is so sad. I followed her for years and always thought she was so intelligent and beautiful. My prayers are with her family especially with her being so young.
OMG! I can't believe it. I met her near Bryant park a few summers ago in NYC. She was really cool and down to earth. It won't even sink in, this is horrible.
This is so sad. She was so young. I didn't want to believe it when I saw the IG tributes. Wasnt' she active on IG for quite some time? I remember her doing hair analyses and posting about them.
My heart dropped when I saw this. How tragic and sad. You never know when or how. I was not aware she had Lupus. One of our family friends died of this illness years ago. She was beautiful and truly an inspiration. I loved her videos and she will truly be missed. My prayers and condolences go out to her family, friends and you-tube family. May God comfort them during this difficult time.
I remember her posting on IG that she was dealing with a sickness and that's why she was inactive for a while. I can't believe it. So sad. Her friend has almost reached her goal to bury her and fly her sister out so that's good. Prayers for her family and friends.
Prayers to her family and friends. My sister lost a friend to lupus a few years ago. They had been friends for decades. She was an inspiration to many people and the natural hair community will surely miss her!! I heard about this last night and still can't believe it today.
All I can say is when I began my natural hair journey back in 2009, her videos on YouTube were the first ones I remember watching. I felt hopeful that my damaged over processed fried hair and scalp could be renewed with proper care.
She was a beautiful and inspirational angel who's pioneering videos on growing Afro textured hair, will always be remembered by women like myself, as one of the YouTube elite that helped to change the black hair care industry and the way we as black women viewed our hair.
No way! I did not know it was this longhairdontcare woman because others have took her handle and put other numbers and stuff infront or behind it, sheesh! I have been a subscriber of hers for years and I am in shock! She had some the prettiest hair I have seen on a young black woman in a long time who retained that length for years. So sad.
This really hits home for me. I lost one of my best friends from nursing school to Lupus. It was awful hearing her daughter cry at the funeral. She two little boys too. I still miss her.
My prayers go out to Longhairdontcare's family, may God comfort them during their time of grief. She was beautiful and so was her hair. Purely inspirational. She will truly be missed.
