Locumentary Update #1

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to post a couple of updates since I've began my journey.. and what a jouney it is. Basically, I am just embracing the changes, fuzz and budding. :spinning:

It's going well.. I'm still trying out different products to see what would work best.

So far I've tried:

Eco -Styler (Olive Oil)---- too flaky.. even a lil bit.
Mango Lock gel --- ewww gross.. didn't like it
Jane Carter lock and twist---- not strong enough to hold my hair (IMHO)
Talijah Waajid (pardon the spelling--- it's ok.. not bad!

But my favorite that I've found is Carol's Daughter Loc Butter
It holds and moisturizes my hair at the same time. I don't have to add anything else to it. I absolutely adore this product!

Here are a few updates... until next time:

These pics are back when I first started I believe

I'll post another update in about 2 months or so...

Good job sticking with it!

I go through fazes over weather or not I want to loc up... I love them though.
and yours are doing good!

^You can start the loc'ing process with comb coils, twists, braids, back combing, etc. Either way, they are locs. :)

rockCreek your hair is gorgeous. I love how moisturized and healthy your locs are. Do you maintain them at home or at a salon? How many months along are you?

Looking good! Keep up the good work!:woohoo: I'm debating if I'm going to start my loc'ing progress now with the two strand twists I'm wearing or wait until the end of the year when I have more length. (My shrinkage is a beast :wallbash:). Please keep us updated.

RockCreak - looking good! My favorite gel is Naturelle styling gel.. its not made specifically for locs but it has good hold and leaves my locs soft, plus leaves no build-up since its very light and water based. I get it at Sally's...

*Happily Me* Your locs are gorgeous! The middle part really suits you... I've been locking for almost 4 years and just trimmed mine back from BSL to a little longer than SL.. you're making me want long locs again :)

Im wayyy into the middle part :yep:

I love my locs and should have done this a long time ago. the time saved on doing my hair is priceless.

Tell me about it.. sometimes I get tempted to take my locs down and relax just as an expirement but when I think about added salon time, money for new products, rollersetting, etc. etc.. I can't bring myself to do it. I do want to do more loc styling though.

Your locs will be so gorgeous OP!!!
Another loc'er in the house! I've had mine for two years and 2 months. Despite our ups and downs, I love them!

GIIIIRL shrinkage may be a factor when you loc for a little while. I suggest locing while your hair is shorter--it usually locs faster :yep:

Of course! :giggle:
