I remember reading on another site that if your hair is breaking it could be due to a lack of portein, moisture, or lipids. What do lipids do to the hair? How do u know if there is a lack of them?

Lipids are fats. So my guess would be cholesterol or oils are good examples of lipids. I recently decided to add cholesterol to my regimen. I feel like I have the protein and moisturizing part of my conditoning regimen down, but my hair still is lacking in softness and breaks occasionally. I'm going to try out my new cholesterol conditioner to see if it helps out.

you are right, lipids are fats. Cholesterol would be really good for your regime you can even mix it up with olive oils or other essential oils for a really nice soft result! You can also get lipids through your diet, eating lots of fruits, veggies ad lean meats that are low in fat also helps.
