light and heavy oils

Can someone tell me the difference between the two with examples. Someone told me today to put a light oil on my hair but I'm not sure if she mean't something like coconut or jojoba oil - or caster oil or wild growth oil:confused:

Thanks

For my hair and scalp, Jojoba is the lightest and fastest absorbing oil. It's the closest match to the normal sebum (oil) that is produced by the scalp, so it's always my first pick of oils. WGO would be my second pick. It's also fast absorbing and doesn't weigh the hair down (for me).

Castor Oil is pretty thick and heavy. It's wonderful to add to conditioners for extra slip, but I've never used it directly on my hair or scalp because of it's just too heavy. HTH!! :)

Well put Miracle...I agree with jojoba being a very light-weight oil and is excellent for daily conditioning of your hair and scalp. I tried a castor oil hot oil treatment about a year ago and boy was my hair all tangled up and that's cause its so thick and heavy and I put a LOT on. But after I got the tangles out my hair was very soft to the touch. But I use a much lighter oil now and get the same results.

I'm working on it!!

Thanks Miracle and Diane 71. I have Jojoba and WGO and will use up my castor oil in the conditioners. Thanks again:)
