LIFE CHANGERS!

Hello All!

I am brand spanking new to the LHCF, and am excited to join. I started my hair journey a year and a half ago and have gone from EL to full SL. My next goal BSB has been a bit elusive, and I recently had some breakage due to permanent hair color and microbraids.

Now that I'm trying to get back on track, I need you ladies to help a sista out and shout out your favorite products or favorite tricks that really helped boost your hair growth! I'm all ears :)

:welcome2:

Keep it as simple as you can with your products and your regimen! Every product and technique on here may sound enticing but find the few things that work for your hair and try your best not to stray from them to avoid setbacks.

Some of my fave products and techniques:

Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose Conditioner
Dealing with my hair in 6-8 sections when shampooing/conditioning/etc
Finger combing
Protective Styling
Airdrying in 6-8 twists tied down with my satin scarf (promotes very well behaved 4a curls!)

Check out the Sulfur Challenge and the Get an inch a month challenge--they both have some great advice....some of my fave techniques/products are:
DC with ORS Replenish Pack on dry hair then co-wash
I like the whole Neutrogena Triple Moisture line (has cones but provides lots of slip)
Minimize blow dryer use...air dry as much as possible
if you flat iron, do it on a 'lower' temp
Always detangle in the shower
Multivitamin
If u are relaxed, try stretching ur relaxers

Thank you so much for your reply!

Ok, how are you doing it without a comb or brush?! I could probably do without a comb, but once it's been months since my last relaxer, I start brushing my hair back into the bun, and I will admit that I get a little rough with my hair. How do you keep your hair manageable with all of that tangled new growth??

Just wanted to stop by and say Welcome to the board!!!
Thank you, Toy! I am very confused when I'm on the site, but I plan on visiting as often as possible to get my hair from SL to BSB in 8 months! (It also keeps my fingers out of my hair lol), so hopefully I will get the hang of it.

Deuces,Visit as much as u can and Start a journal take your time and you will achieve your goals .

Detangle when your hair is wet and full of conditioner. Detangle in the shower under running water, or out of the shower with soaking wet hair. Start detangling at the ends and work your way up.

Welcome to the board! And this is hands down the best advice and was a life saver for me to help retain length and keep my sanity!

I will def have to check out both of those challenges! (Esp since I do not have a clue what the benefits of sulfur are.) So thx for those recommendation.

I juwt ordered the Nioxin Recharging Complex vitamins on Amazon. Do you have any suggestions/recommendations about other vitamins?

Also, when I stretch my relaxers, I tend to have to brush my edges/hair into a bun to smooth it down and look a little less "homeless" lol. Is there anything that you do that tames your new growth?

Hmm, I have def been detangling from the top down, so I will make that switch! Thank you ladies! After some thinning due to microbraids, I am really focused on maintaining strands and improving thickness.
