i think i'm about ready to start my own fotki
I transitioned for a few days short of 10 months.
Commentary first...the most growth I have (middle of head) is about 4 1/2 inches (my front and nape are much shorter--my nape is about 3, and it used to be bald!) If I had went for a few more weeks, I would've had five. I am VER5Y happy about how fast my hair grew and I hope to keep it up!
My first length goal is not to lose any
Once I learn to care for it better (it was so dry by the end of today in this horrible, dry, virginia winter--i'm going to need to up my moisturizer), i'll start getting goals
I was going to transition indefinitely, but 2006 was a bad year. I decided to start 2007 all new, and decided my hair was a part of that process. i cut off some stragly ends that made it through in the pictures right after i took 'em. eventually i'll go to my hair dresser and let her take off any bits and pieces left.
I haven't told my mother. She's going to flip.
I'm 21 and still her baby!
I found this board by sheer accident. Someone had started a thread on another (mostly white) board about boards that get more traffic than that particular board. One black board friend of mine mentioned some hair care boards. I sent her a message, she sent me here...and that was almost a year ago this May! I didn't even know what natural was--or I take that back. Momma always called it nappy
I guess I'm proud to be nappy!
I was so unsure after I chopped the first side--I kept thinking...what have I done?! But now, I LOVE it. It's not long enough for a low puff, but definitely long enough for some fun styles. And I can't wait to see how it grows!
both are dry shots. i love the second picture--it shows how crazy different my nape is from the rest of my hair! and i'm so happy to have HAIR in my nape! i was totally rocking the bald look!
length check!
4 1/2 in 10 months!!!
uncombed and soaking wet. i LOVE the texture in my nape the most!
full shot, uncombed and soaking wet
again, my nape, soaking wet, no product
this is what happens when you sleep with a loose fro...
this is how you fix it the next night!!
