Actually IE has intermittent issues with any software....
When loading a site, Chrome and Firefox split the requests for the resources. That means that they will load the stylesheet, any javascript files, any images, the content and then they will merge everything together and present it.
IE does not do that. It processes things serially. So if you have any delay whatsoever from any of those resources, you will have to wait until that resource times out or it loads. In either case you will wait.
This is why we recommend that you use Chrome or Firefox. You can also use Google Chrome Frame - Google Code which is an addon to IE. You can still use IE but this plugin will make your life a lot easier.
