I've noticed that I've been losing hair from doing rollersets with magnetic rollers and clips and perhaps I'm doing it wrong and that's why, but I don't like those clips in my hair really, and was wondering who's tried mesh rollers and what were your experiences. Would you still need to roll your hair while really damp like you would the magnetic ones? I plan to do my hair tomorrow night, so I'll buy them tomorrow morning.

I love the results I get with magnetic rollers for rollersets. I can't imagine how I could use mesh rollers to get the same results. Mesh rollers always tended to snag my hair.

I like Magnetic rollers better for me. My mother always use mesh rollers(the pink kind) in my hair when i was growing up and i even slept in them a few times. I didn't notice any breakage when she took them out though.

Make sure you aren't wrapping your hair too tightly around the roller and try roller pins instead of those clips. I found I get less snagged hairs and my roller holds its place better with pins than clips.

What are roller pins? I would like to get some...TIA

I was going to ask this too. Can someone put up a picture? I know what the clips are and that's what I use and they work just fine but I would still like to know what the pins are. Thanks!

Also, I Love Magnetic Rollers and can't imagine using the mesh rollers at all---have long ago in the past and those things got tangled in my hair. Never again!

Overall, magnetic rollers give a better set and cause less breakage because there is nothing for the hair to get tangled up with. Past shoulder length, I couldn't bother with them anymore because I haven't got all day to sit under a dryer.

I started using mesh rollers because the drying time is quicker and I can also sleep on them. Using end papers also gives very smooth results that rival those of the magnetic rollers. If the mesh rollers come with a brush inside, take it out and throw it away. It serves no purpose except to cause tangling.

I've seen two types of roller pins. The cheapy plastic pink ones that are too flexible made by Goody and the amber colored ones that have a thin metal/steel piece in the middle (less flexible).

Long ago I used to sleep in mesh rollers but they always gave me a headache.

You have to be careful when you push the pins thru you hair on the roller.
When your pushing the pins, your stretching the strands.

I never could get the hang of using those pins. :nono:

I use both mesh or magnetic, depending on my mood. I don't get breakage from either though. I really like the slide in clips they work well and my hair doesn't get caught either.

I use magnetic rollers. I would like to use mesh ones since they help dry faster, but every time I try, I have a hard time getting the hair to stay, even with the end papers. Magnetic rollers are easier to apply

NP, you can usually get a container of 100 for less than $2. If you don't need or want that many, there are other options. I like to have that many because I also use them to pin my hair up so I keep some in my purse and in the car as well.
