I'm going to start doing this chick's hair (not charging her or anything, but I like doing hair). My question is how to get started? We are going to the BSS in a few minutes..what products would you recommend we try? I'm asking because I still use the same *basic* products as when I started out, so I wouldn't know where to begin! I think she wants to try the products that *I* use, but I was thinking maybe some other products might be useful. If you were to suggest some *basic* products what would you suggest?

P.S.~ I'll let you guys know what happens and what we end up purchasing!

If you're not trying to break the bank I'd go with Elasta QP Creme Condtioning Shampoo, Any cholesterol conditioner for a deep conditioner, At One with Nature Botanical Reconstructor Conditioner (has great slip), and a heat protectant spray if you plan on blow-drying,

I don't use it anymore but its good. The Got2BE Smooth line. Orange bottles. The poo and the con are good. The heat protectant foam is great. The shine spray is a good detangler and of course shine spray. They have other good products. Not expensive to me. Pjism has caused me to move on....

Also Bravo to you for helping free of charge. I'm started doing my sisters maintanence. Beautiful hair is a blessing!

There is a whole line of maybe 6 or 7 products. The ones I mentioned plus a one minute deep treatment, some type of oil. Nothing wrong just not like Kenra.

Okay, I gave her a WHOLE lot of my products to try:
Infusium 23 (I had like 3 bottles)
Profective Mega Growth/Healthy Ends
Motions Foaming Wrap Stuff
Soft & Beautiful Botanicals Oil

We bought CON Shampoo and Conditioner.

She can get EVOO from the grocery store or use the S&B Oil for a hot oil treatment. We bought the poo and con. The con w/ Water can be used as a leave in OR the infusium. I think she's going to buy Mango Butter (we're gonna try it in her hair now) and she has WGO. I think that's enough to get started?

We have EVOO on her hair now..I'll post results!

Thanks to all that replied!
WE GOT AMAZING RESULTS..SOFT SHINY HAIR!
This is what we did:
1) Hot oil treatment with EVOO
2) Clarify with ALOE RID
3) Shampoo with CON
4) Condition with CON
5) Apply HEADRESS, MANGO BUTTER, and WGO
6) Doobie

Take a look'see (results in my album)
