ravenmerlita said:That's a really good question. I have tried various topical scalp treatments (women's rogaine being one of the last). I've stopped all of them and have massive shedding now. I just recently found out that the shedding may be due to stopping the treatments. I don't fully understand the reason for this, but it was explained to me that the hair follicle becomes dependent on some treatments and will shed hairs when they are stopped. Apparently this shedding may go on for a month or two. It is horrible!
Please note, I did not notice a lot of shedding when I stopped using MTG. So I can't say that MTG was a problem. But I have used so much in the past it's impossible to really figure out the culprit.
